Advantages: Most software works with it

Disadvantages: Bad Security, price is far too high, limited on how you can use it.

Windows XP has had many updates and Microsoft say it is now their best operating system, but why has it taken a service pack 2 for micrsoft to deal with the problem? This code should have been written better in the first time.
This software is expensive, but people don’t know what other choices they have, and the marketing machine of Microsoft will lead them to believe there is no other option.
Ok, look at this, and this is just my point of view, and I could be massively wrong, and I accept no responsibility, but most people with windows use Microsoft office, how much does that cost? Say £190 (est) well if you buy a computer without windows, you save an average of £100, you can use linux Knoppix (which is similar to windows) and this software is free. Even better you get a cool Office package, which contacins everything and more that Microsoft office contains. Less people try to hack into your system/computer if you use anything other than windows.
