Advantages: Not that I know of

Disadvantages: Frequent System crash

Hi, I just got a new laptop running Windows XP Professional and let me tell you, I am very frustrated! I had it for 2 weeks now and I can hardly use it. The system is constantly crashing for no reason giving a different error each time. I am no computer wiz so i have no idea what the error messages mean. I searched the internet to find out that many people had the exact same problem. At first the messages said something about sysdata.xml and than minidump and swap and also memory and also recovery...... and the list goes on and on....needless to say that i will be returning my purchase to the store asking for explanation as to why this is happening.

Summary: weak operating system and good luck obtaining tech support--it ain't cheap

Come over to the dark side - and get yourself a Mac. OSX Tiger is an amazing operating system. I had PC's for years and have had a mac for 9months and would never go back. it never crashes(Windows is renound for it) and there isn't a virus out there that is able to hack - so no antivirus clogging up yr system either...

I would also be interested in whether you have adequate anti-virus protection...

I agree with RockNroll. If the machine is two weeks old then it needs to go back to the shop. No one should pay for defective material.
