Almost Perfect (Microsoft Windows XP - Professional Edition)
Member Name: Hoathster
Advantages: Great hardware Support, CD Burning , Fast Boot Speed Disadvantages: Lack of older software support
Its true, no operating system can be perfect to use for everyone, but Windows XP pro is pretty damn close. The support for new hardware is massive, and becuase it uses NT tech, as opposed to the windows 98 style, it hardly ever crashes. I have found the Task manager, without leaving windows incredably good during program crashes. Previously i have used both Windows 2000 and Windows 98, and where 2000 is an improvement, this is a leap. There is little Microsoft could do to improve upon this OS at the moment. The CD burning capabiltiy is most useful when in a rush, i have found. The only problem i have seen with in this OS is its lack of support for some olders oftware that was never made to work with NT or ME. Other than that it is great, it solved a huge problem with a driver on my current computer, neither 98 or 2000 supported my modem without manufacturer's driver, but XP got it sused. Its great, go buy it! Summary: |
