Introduction

I would like to give a brief introduction of Ubuntu. Ubuntu is a African word meaning "humanity to others". Ubuntu is a free operating system which comes for laptops,desktops and servers.
Well to all who are using Windows , i would like to make a small comparison between Windows and Linux(Ubuntu) so please dont feel as if iam criticizing Windows

Small Comparison
1. As you would have noticed there is a huge price for Windows but Ubuntu is free Operating System.

2. If you order Ubuntu, Ubuntu will be delivered to your house, free of cost not even including the postal charges. For more details please visit

3. Ubuntu is free of viruses and other malicious threats, which Windows never promises. You need to install some Antivirus softwares and Antispyware software to protect yourself from malicious attacks.

4. Ubuntu comes under Open Source Code software where you can know the source code and learn more about how your Operating System works. You can interact with "Kernel", you can edit the source code, you can change however you wish according to your desires.

5. You need not install any software like "MS Office", and "Sound Card Drivers" for your personal use.

Ubuntu comes with "Open Office" for word program, a default pdf viewer, "Browser" for surfing on the net, and even "Pidgin", an instant chat messenger.
For hearing music all you need is to install codecs which can be done by connecting to the internet.

Cons:
Now a little bit of dark side of Ubuntu, Ubuntu has a different format for supporting softwares unlike Windows. So all .exe file format of Windows cannot be installed in Ubuntu

So its quite difficult for softwares being installed in Ubuntu but there are certain softwares which supports Ubuntu.

The Bottomline:

So if you are still not satisfied by my review just request free cd over the internet and try using "Live CD" option. This will not affect your Operating System.
