Colgate Smiles Toothbrush Junior
by Lyndzi76
I have always been a fan of Colgate myself so when it came to brushing my son's teeth I picked a Colgate tooth brush.
I picked the Colgate smiles toothbrush from Wilkinsons for only £1. This one was selected because it was on offer, Colgate and a vibrant green and blue colour.
There is a variety of different ... designs/colours in the Colgate smiles range.
This junior toothbrush is about half the size of an adult's toothbrush at approx. 12cm. The handle is stumpy and chunky which allows a good grip for little hands and also has non-slip ridges on the back.
The bristles are coloured and are varied lengths for easy cleaning and to allow the bristles to get between your teeth. My little boy has a habit of biting down on the bristles rather than brushing so this has resulted in the bristles spreading however I imagine this would happen to any brush as their designed for brushing not chewing!!
The colour and design have helped me get my little one to clean his teeth as he picks his brush up and says "green - clean"
I would recommend this brush to anyone with a toddler and I will continue to use this range until he outgrows it. Read the complete review |

Aquafresh Extra Fresh Daily Mouthwash Fresh Mint
by sharper_fin
We should all brush our teeth and floss regularly, we all know that. Inbetween times we should also use a mouthwash like Aquafresh Extra Fresh Daily. It comes in an attractive blue bottle with the familiar Aquafresh toothpaste logo on the front and can be found in most places for about a pound for a 500ml bottle. Along with the usual ... claims of freshening your breath and helping to prevent the build-up of plaque it promises to "prolong the effects of brushing and provide lasting protection for a clean and healthy mouth".
I can't comment on its long term effectiveness in that respect but I can tell you that it tastes different from most other mouthwashes that I've tried. What immediately hits you about the taste is that it's alcohol free. Weirdly, that means that it doesn't taste as strong as most other mouthwashes which made me think that it wasn't as 'effective' in some way. I know it's strange but that's how I thought. It actually tastes of mint humbugs with a little bit of antiseptic mixed in. That's not a bad thing, it's a really nice taste and it certainly leaves your tongue tingling for a short while afterwards.
It claims to have an active mineral which binds to and strengthens your tooth enamel and to increase the effectiveness of brushing but again, not being a scientist I can't talk about that one way or the other. All I can say is that it made my breath taste good for a few hours afterwards, as if I'd just been chewing gum. That's what a mouthwash is supposed to do so overall it seems to be a good quality product from a big name brand. I'd heartily recommend it. Read the complete review |

Aquafresh Milk Teeth Paste
by MsTricia
I have been very conscious of my little ones teeth, and on our last visit to the dentist he gave some great advice on brushing techniques, the types of brush we should use and the toothpaste he recommends. Whilst we have used Boots branded and Tesco branded one in the past, when I was in Superdrug recently there was a 3 for 2 offer ... across oral care so I picked up a new toothbrush and (since she will always need toothpaste!) I bought two tubes of this aquafresh milk teeth tooth paste which costs about £1 or so but I got the second one for free!
It comes in a little white tube of 50ml and has a cute decoration of the toothpaste with a face on it, holding a sign that says 3-5 years. It says it contains fluoride protection 1450 ppm and is made from GlaxoSmithKline.
It is a top down tube so you can stand the tube up and it has a flip top cap to get the toothpaste out. The tube is made of plastic but is easily squeezable to get the toothpaste out without any wastage. The toothpaste itself is striped red, white, and blue which makes it look quite colourful which my daughter enjoys. The mint is a pleasant flavour which isn't overly strong but gives minty fresh breath. I had previously bought my daughter a hello kitty "strawberry" flavoured children toothpaste which she hated and told me she never wanted to brush her teeth with it so minty is definitely the only option in our house! With this Aquafresh toothpaste it is advised to brush children's teeth twice a day, which we do and squeezing out a small pea sized blob on to her brush is sufficient for the whole 2 minutes morning and night with this toothpaste.
The toothpaste will help to strengthen tooth enamel which is great as I am always worried my daughter will have weak teeth. This has a brilliant low level of 0.315% Sodium fluoride which is a low level so will not cause harm if my daughter accidentally swallows some although I am encouraging her to spit when brushing and she is doing this well.
Overall I really this toothpaste and would definitely recommend it. It's from a good brand, is easy to use, and is a friendly toothpaste my daughter enjoys using which is the most important thing! It get's 5 out of 5 from us :) Read the complete review |
