Boots Disclosing Tablets
by Tolteca
When you know that you have somewhat neglected your teeth for far too long and finally institute an intense oral care program, it is difficult to know if you are now doing things correctly and not missing areas of plaque, especially in the hard to brush areas.
These little pills tell you if you are or are not doing a good job ... with the brushing and flossing and which spots you are missing.
Pop one of these little blue pills in your mouth after you have completed your usual oral care routine and let it dissolve - even if you might have to chew a little - and you will soon know where, if at all, you are falling down with your fang care routine. Those areas will be unmissable as they will be blue, as will your tongue in all probability.
The blue on your teeth indicates areas of plaque and the old, hardened plaque which is tartar. The bacteria on your tongue and cheeks may also cause them to stay blue on even thorough and multiple rinsing sessions. Removing the blue areas through directed brushing and scraping the tongue and cheeks will both show you where you or your children need to do better and will remove a lot of the bad stuff while you or your child do it.
Kids especially will benefit from trying this product. They will love the blueness and will - hopefully - be horrified at the amount of plaque left on their underbrushed teeth and so do better in future. But kids are not the only ones who benefit from checking their oral care regime's effectiveness with these disclosing tablets.
This is a valuable testing tool for anyone who is serious about their oral care regime, especially after letting things slide for far too long.
And as such, a staple of the bathroom cabinet. Read the complete review |

Safe and Sound Temporary Tooth Filling
by creativewriter
I had to attend business meeting in Down in Hampshire, (I live in the North, approximately 90 miles away) but on the previous day I had desperately tried to get an emergency appointment with my dentist that I could attend on the way home from work on that day. The dentist could not fit me in and I felt this rush of panic and anxiety ... about having to attend the meeting with a painful tooth.
Unfortunately - during my lunch hour at work, I had bitten on an orange pip by mistake and my filling dropped out. It was one of my front teeth and it had a gaping hole in it. Everytime I spoke I could feel cold air rush up it and it was painful. The only way it didn't hurt was to speak with my lips slightly closed on that side.
I didn't speak very much that night as I was anxious about the meeting the next day and my tooth was aching which was a constant reminder to me of how stupid I may look in the meeting. I normally straighten my hair before leaving for work but I didn't exactly feel very attractive like this and felt goofy which was odd.
I didn't bother with breakfast, for obvious reasons and sipped on a small carton of orange juice through a straw as I set off in my car. Half-an-hour into the journey - the aching in my tooth seemed more intense. I spotted a pharmacy on this parade of shops so I pulled up went inside and asked them for something that would relieve the pain. The pharmacist asked me what they were for and I told him about my missing filling .
He went behind the counter and produced this temporary filling (Safe & Sound). I was amazed as I didn't know that something like this existed. I was so releived about it that I almost forgot my tablets for my pain.
I applied the filling in the car. It was quite simple to use despite me being all sweaty and fumbly. The filling was pliable - a bit like blu-tack - hence it was not mess at all.
The filling did feel a bit strange for a while, as it was not easy to acheive a smooth finish and I didn't help by having the urge now and then to keep touching it with my tongue. But at least I felt confident about talking again and the aching subsided too.
It is only a temporary filling but I had mine in for several weeks with no signs of it dropping out.
I was so grateful for this product. I have purchased a spare one and left in the glove compartment just in case I ever have the same problem .
I highly recommend this. Probably worth packing in your suitcase as well. Read the complete review |

Retainer Brite Retainer Cleaning Tablets
by panandtilt
After my daughter had her braces removed she was given a retainer which she should wear at night and whenever she could during the day. Like dentures these retainers need to be kept clean. The orthodontist recommended this product to us.
Retainer Brite is a product which helps to keep your retainer clean, bacteria free and plaque ... free. It works by gently removing bacteria and plaque using the fizzing action of the tablet. It comes in a box of 36, which is the size we bought last time but I have bought them in boxes of 72 or 96 as well. I usually get mine from our either our orthodontist or dentist and I pay around £6 for them. I've also bought them on Amazon for around a similar price too. The box of 36 lasts around a month but I also use mine to occasionally clean my sons rugby mouth-guard so mine only last around 3 weeks. I have bought several boxes since.
==How to use==
Drop one tablet into a container holding warm water then add the retainer or mouth-guard, the water should be fizzing by now and will have turned blue, make sure the water covers the retainer/mouth-guard. I usually place mine into an old small jar with a lid and fill it to the top otherwise the retainer will float up and some of it may not get a good clean. After 15-20 minutes remove retainer and rinse under water. Place in a clean retainer box until you need to use it. We usually do ours first thing while we are eating breakfast then it would be ready for the evenings use.
==My opinion==
My daughter likes this product as there is no taste or smell when she puts the retainer back in her mouth. The retainer is always clean and fresh. After 6 months of use it does not appear to have affected the fabric of the material and it seems as rigid as it did from new. Retainer Brite is recommended by dentists and orthodontists. I, and my daughter, would definitely recommend it. I have also used them to clean the inside of my stainless steel thermos flask, it removes all the tea stains really well. I can also tell you that it cleans the loo really well, another mum told me about using them in the toilet bowl overnight. Just pop one in and leave to do it's stuff, it does work and you have a really clean and germ free bowl in the morning with no horrible bleach/cleaner smells. Read the complete review |
