Aquafresh Milk Teeth Paste
Advantages: Does what it should, gentle
After what seemed an age, my little baby girl sprouted two bottom teeth around the 6 month mark, and as soon as they came up enough, I began to brush them twice a day. When I was pregnant I received a sample of this Aquafresh Milk Teeth in a pregnancy pack, and this was the one that I immediately used when the time came to brush her teeth for the first time.
Although I had a sample tube, a 100ml tube of this milk teeth toothpaste costs around £1.20 in most supermarkets. On the colourful packaging, it states that this toothpaste offers 'gentle tooth care + calcium'. This also gives flouride protection for baby teeth and gums, with flouride protection of 1000ppm.
This toothpaste is sugar free which is important in my opinion when it comes to my baby girl. It also has a gentle mint taste which I suppose should help babies accept this paste in their mouths. My little girl obviously likes the taste, as very often she tries to lick the paste before it even reaches her two teeth. This toothpaste has been designed for children between the ages of 0 and 3.
My daughter is now 8 months old and so I have been cleaning her teeth with this toothpaste for around two months and I have been very pleased with it. My daughter isn't one who likes getting her teeth cleaned and will fight somewhat, putting her tongue out to prevent me getting at her teeth, but she certainly seems to like the toothpaste, and once I manage to get to the teeth, she will let me spend a (limited!) few minutes actually brushing the teeth and I do feel that this paste is helping to keep her two teeth clean and prevent the build up of plaque etc.
Obviously it is difficult to tell just how clean her teeth are, but they certainly look it, and there is no visible sign of any food around the teeth or plaque, so I am happy with the paste. So much so, that when my sample finished, I bought a full tube of this toothpaste, as I am confident in its ability as my daughter grows and sprouts more teeth, to keep her teeth clean.
Summary: An ideal toothpaste for baby
