When it comes to toothpastes and toothbrushes I do prefer to purchase named brands such as Colgate or Oral-B. However, I am not particularly brand loyal and will usually buy whatever is on offer. Occasionally I will pick up toothpaste from the Supermarket but I much prefer Poundland as I find they sell a wide variety of branded toothpaste for ( surprise surprise) just £1 and this is where I purchased this Aqua-fresh triple protection toothpaste which I am reviewing today.
Aqua-fresh triple protection toothpaste comes in a hard plastic container which stands upright, the toothpaste can clearly be seen inside with its classic red white and blue stripes. The brand and product name are clearly displayed on the front along with the claim that this toothpaste has an "antibacterial action". There is a red cap on top, when removed reveals the white pump dispenser.
General information is given on the back including ingredients and directions for use. Once opened the toothpaste has a shelf life of twelve months.
Aqua-fresh claim that this triple action toothpaste will:
* Protect against decay
* Fight plaque to help protect gums
* Give a clean fresh breath
I really like this hard plastic style packaging and have found it to be far more convenient and less messy than the conventional tube. The pump dispenser works brilliantly at releasing the right amount of toothpaste in a perfect straight line along my toothbrush, there is no excess. We are nearing the end of our toothpaste now but there is no rolling the tube to get the last dregs out here as the dispenser is doing this job perfectly itself.
The toothpaste itself is of a great consistency, it isn't too thick or too thin and it stays on the toothbrush well. It has a regular minty smell and taste to it which is strong but not overly so. I find it produces a nice amount of froth and cleans the teeth well. After using my teeth feel fresh and my breath smells minty for around half an hour before It can no longer be detected.
Aqua-fresh state that the toothpaste is suitable for children too, although children under six should be supervised whilst brushing. My ten year old daughter uses this one too and quite likes it but my four year old finds it far too minty for her liking, so I buy a different children's toothpaste for her.
I have been really happy with this toothpaste and have enjoyed it, it is pretty standard compared to some of the other toothpastes out there. I actually find this to be a nice refreshing change from the bombardment of toothpaste companies with their outlandish claims as to what their new improved formula toothpaste can do, honestly give me classic Aqua-fresh anytime!
