I'm not brand loyal and will happily buy the Tesco Value range until it comes to toothpaste then I like to buy what I consider will be a good quality one. I recently had a free sample of Aquafresh Ultimate and not one to turn a freebie down I decided to try it.

Aquafrsh Ultimate is advertised as giving "whole tooth protection" It will clean and strengthen the tooth above the gum line and protect what's below it by killing bacteria and keeping the gum nice and tight around the tooth.
My tube is 75mls which is currently selling on Amazon for £2.50.

The tube is mainly blue with a flip top lid which I like as it never goes missing and is always replaced. It has the Aquafresh logo across the front. It informs the customer that it is Aquafresh Ultimate and offers whole tooth protection. The back of the tube gives directions for use which is the standard advice of brushing twice daily. Children under 6yrs should be supervised while using this product. The tube also gives a list of ingredients.

Aquafresh Ultimate has the usual red white and blue stripes running through it and in the tube doesn't really smell very minty. When I squeezed a small amount on my finger it has a slightly sandy feel to it. This is very slight and isn't obvious when brushing your teeth.

I have found that this toothpaste has a strange taste when using it to brush your teeth, its not very minty and has a slightly strange taste which I wasn't expecting. However once I had finished brushing my teeth the fresh minty taste really came through.

I have found that Aquafresh Ultimate cleans my teeth as well as any good quality toothpaste but no better. It leaves my teeth feeling smooth and clean and my mouth and breath is minty fresh. As for the whole tooth protection, well I suspect it would take a while of using this to really see if this statement is correct.

All I would say is that Aquafresh Ultimate is a good toothpaste that cleans my teeth and freshens my mouth very well and if its doing some good work below the gum line that's a bonus. Its not the best tasting toothpaste when you are using it but it gives a nice minty burst afterwards. Overall I would recommend giving it a try.
