Although I tend to stick to buying either Colgate or Aquafresh toothpastes I am not all that fussy when it comes to which particular kind of toothpaste I buy within their ranges and I will often just buy something which is on offer and looks good which is how I came to purchase the Aquafresh whitening toothpaste.
The Aquafresh whitening toothpaste comes in a pump which is something that I like because you have a button to press to release the toothpaste and it usually cuts off the end of the toothpaste too so you don't end up with a messy cap. I say usually because I have a six year old who seems to be able to make a mess with things regardless of the fact that they should be less messy! The pump features the Aquafresh name going up it as well as the usual three stripes, being red white and blue. We are told that the whitening toothpaste gets teeth whiter and also helps keep them white too compared to the Aquafresh fresh and minty toothpaste. The pump stands up vertically too and so it fits nicely on the sink and just looks better than a tube of paste in my opinion. There is 100ml of toothpaste in the pump and so it is a good size and lasts well.
The toothpaste does smell very minty as you release it from the pump and put it on to your toothbrush. It looks just like all of the other Aquafresh toothpastes in that it features their three stripe formula but it is quite a stronger smell I find. As you brush your teeth with it you will find it is very minty and so it is not something that my son will now brush his teeth with as it is a bit too strong a taste for him but I find that it is fine for me and makes my mouth feel refreshed and clean after use. My issue here though, like with so many other whitening toothpastes, is that they claim they whiten your teeth but I cannot say I have seen any difference in the appearance of my teeth since using this product at all. Apparently though the toothpaste contains whitening micro particles which are clinically proven to gently remove stains from your teeth and help to restore natural whiteness.
I do quite like this toothpaste regardless of the fact that I am dubious about the whitening claims simply because it tastes really minty and so I feel like my teeth and mouth are getting a good clean when I use it. Despite the fact that I do like this paste though I am not sure if I would purchase it again simply because it is a bit much for my son to use and as he is six now I do like him to use a grown up toothpaste as advised by our dentist and so I like us both to use the same thing rather than purchase lots of different products.
Should you be interested in using this toothpaste you can pick it up from Boots and other supermarkets for around the £1.50 to £2.00 mark which I feel is a good price to pay for a paste which lasts a good amount of time and is decent as well.
Thank you for reading my review!
I have to admit Aquafresh is one of my favourite toothpastes is that weird I have always found the who blue, red and white stripe thing magical how does it all stay in the tube yet come out stripey lol I love it anyway. My boyfriend however is not so keen on the basic Aquafresh toothpaste I don't know what his problem is but he just likes boring white toothpaste he has however been going on about wanting Whitening toothpaste so I thought I would push my luck when I saw this Aquafresh Whitening toothpaste in trusty Home bargains it only cost 99p for a 100ml tube which is excellant as it would have cost at leat double that in teh supermarkets.
So onto the toothpaste...
The toothpaste is by Aquafresh and is kept in a plastic tube which stands upright and the toothpaste is released by pressing a lever which I find is a bit less messy than regular tubes and lets just the right pea sized amount onto your toothbrush. As the toothpaste is Aquafresh it does of course take the form of that unique red, white and blue stripe that I love hurray and the other great thing I like about it is that it does not contain sodium biocarbonate I can not stand that in toothpaste I do not like the sensation of it in my mouth so it is the first thing I scan for when buying toothpaste. The whitening property of this is in the form of micro-particles which believe me are so micro you can not actually feel them I have used some toothpastes that say micro particles but are like brushing your teeth with sand this is not the case with this one luckily. The toothpaste also promises to help prevent stains and of course help keep your teeth strong and healthy whic is what you want from a good toothpaste. The taste is minty but nice not to overpowering and the paste leaves my teeth feeling nice and clean and shiny they feel like they are sparkling when I have finished. As for the whitening I think they look the same as they did when I started using it 2 weeks ago though my teeth are not particularly mis coloured in the first place after using a different whitening toothpaste so I can't really make a judgement on this.
I give this toothpaste 5 stars because it leaves my teeth feeling shiny and sparkle like.
I have recently tried out the Aquafresh whitening toothpaste and this is my review of the product I bought.
Aquafresh is quite a well known brand of toothpaste and there are different flavours and types of toothpaste in the brand but the one I tried was the whitening toothpaste. The main reason I bought this toothpaste was the price as it only cost me a pound for what I thought was quite a large looking tube of the toothpaste.
The Aquafresh whitening toothpaste is not in a normal looking tube that you would normally get with toothpaste but it is in a pump toothpaste which is a cylinder shape. At first I quite liked using the pump tube but over time I thought it was a bit annoying as it seemed to waste the toothpaste cos it put to much onto my toothbrush. I also didn't like how the tube had to lie around the sink as it was to big to fit into the little cup I normally use to hold my toothbrush and toothpaste. I liked how the pump tube did not make as much mess as I usually find with a normal tube of toothpaste the lid gets messy about half way through using the tube but with the pump tube I thought it was less messy and it was easier to clean.
The toothpaste tasted quite pleasant and was like a fresh minty taste like a peppermint taste and not a spearmint taste. The thing I did not like about the Aquafresh whitening toothpaste was that I thought it had a bit of a chalk like texture to it and I thought it left a bit of a chalky taste in my mouth after I used it. I usually use a mouthwash after brushing my teeth in the morning so it was not a big problem for me but for other buyers it might put you off!
The Aquafresh toothpaste I bought is a whitening brand and I was cynical about this cos I have bought whitening toothpastes before and have not found they make any slight difference to my teeth so I did not expect this brand to do anything for the colour of my teeth either and I was right. I used this toothpaste for weeks and I did not think it made any difference to the colour or condition of my teeth so I would not recommend it for this.
I did not think that the Aquafresh whitening toothpaste did anything extra for my dental health in things like preventing bad breath or helping my teeth be healthier any more than another toothpaste I would normally buy.
I thought the Aquafresh whitening toothpaste was quite average which tooke me by surprise cos it always seems to come across as a high market brand. I was let down by the whitening claims of the toothpaste and I really did not like the chalk texture and taste. I would not go out of my way to buy it again.
I have seen different types of Aquafresh toothpaste on sale in places such as Tesco and Sainsbury's as well as chemists and pharmacy shops like boots. I bought mine from my local mini market shop and it was on sale for only £1 which I thought was a very good price.
I would not really suggest giving the Aquafresh toothpaste a try out and even though the price was quite low for the toothpaste I would not buy it again cos I thought there was a kind of chalky taste to this toothpaste and I did not really like using it and so I was pleased when the tube was finished.
This toothpase was recently offered for sale in my local poundland so I decided to buy it even though I don't usually buy toothpastes with a 'whitening' claim as I find them too abrasive.
The packaging looks good in the bathroom, believe it or not one of the reasons why i usually stay clear of the aquafresh range is because the blue on the packaging clashes with my bathroom tiles however the packaging on this pump is clear ( which shows up white) and silver which blends in nicely.
The toothpase itself has a delicate minty flavour, certainly not overpowering but doesn't leave your mouth feeling 'zingy' after use. I have to be honest and say I haven't notices any whitening effect- even though I have been using it twice a day for about 5 weeks. Having said that it doesn't appear to be abbrassive and doesn't seem to be scratching my teeth.
The only negitive woth this product is that (the same as all pumps) the toothpaste dries or sets around the nozzle and this means you waste a little bit every time you use it as it has solidified. I bit this waste adds up with daily use.
