Rating:

Advantages: Easy to use and helps with the prevention of tarter and plague

Disadvantages: Didn't whiten my teeth at all

When it comes to my teeth looking and feeling clean its something that I am really willing to spend out on. However with my tooth enamel wearing badly I am really conscious of what I use on my teeth, however I purchased this product before being told by the dentist about the enamel problem that I have (though I hadn't used it prior) and decided to give it a go anyway!

The Packaging:

The product comes in a white square box and on the front of that box there is a photograph of a white toothy smile and I am told that it is Brilliant, 'For A Smile To Dazzle' and thats its a 1 week tooth whitening kit which is 'Quick and easy to use, prevents stains re-occurring and controls tarter and is clinically proven' and that it is for smile maintenance and is a gentle action formula and there is a picture of the contents within the box too. Other information stated on the box includes being told a bit about the product and what to expect from it, directions for use are stated, contents are listed, as are the ingredients, cautions are stated and contact details for the manufacturer are given (Lornamead). Inside the box there is a large pamphlet and on that again (and in different languages) I am told pretty much told the same information as what is on the box and then inside the box you get the products you need to use in a white plastic tray stored neatly.

A Bit About The Product According To The Information Given:

Brilliant's gentle action tooth whitening kit uses the latest in home tooth whitening innovation which, with regular use can give you a super sparkling smile up to 4 shades lighter in just 1 week.

The gentle formula is free from peroxide and will give you a brighter, whiter smile safely and with the minimum of effort.

Using The Kit:

Well what you get is three small tubes of product and a plastic almost see-through small gum shield. You get a 6ml white plastic tube with like a spongy head to the top of it. As the first step of the process you simply wipe this over your front teeth making sure your lips or anything don't touch it. It has a slight salty taste to it but nothing major and then you get step two out of the box which is a 13ml white easy to squeeze plastic tube of whitening gel and gently put a thin layer into the gum shield. You then leave this in your mouth for between 5-10 minutes (and do this twice a day for best results).

The tray in the mouth feels a bit cold due to the transparent gel but although I have sensitive teeth it doesn't put them on edge too much. I clean the tray out of excess gel before putting it back in the kit and then I gently brush my teeth with the minty fresh light turquoise coloured whitening toothpaste that feels gently exfoliating to finish off which again comes in a white 14ml tube.

All in all I find the whole process takes a few minutes and isn't hard work to to do. When I have done it my teeth feel cleaner and smoother.

I have used this kit as recommended and thats twice a day for a week. I had enough of the products to do so and didn't find it a fussy regime to follow at all or messy.

However although my teeth in general do feel smoother in the long run since using this I haven't felt that my teeth are any whiter at all for using it. I expected to see my teeth go at least a shade whiter in a week but haven't sadly so all in all this is a pretty pointless product really although I have noticed less plaque and tarter build up on teeth!

This kit is available in all good chemists etc and I bought mine in Superdrug for £5.50 (it is also available on Amazon).
