Colgate 2in1 Whitening Toothpaste & Mouthwash

I have no loyalty to any toothpaste and haven't yet found one that is remarkably different. With this in mind I tend to buy any toothpaste which is a well known brand but at a bargain price.

This seemed to fit the bill when I found it in my local bargain store for £1 . I think it usually retails at about£2, so a good half price product made especially good by the fact that I have used Colgate products before and liked them.

It is advertised as being an easy-to-use product offering the cleaning power of toothpaste, with the freshness of mouthwash. It apparently cleans teeth, freshens breath, protects teeth against cavities and helps to restore the natural whiteness of teeth. It does all of this because it creates a foaming action which gets in between the teeth and hard to reach places to help remove the germs that cause bad breath. I don't know how it will get teeth white but time will tell.

The product comes in a plastic carton type packaging with the base wider than the top where the lid is although given the size of both sides it can be stood on either end. This is handy when I get low on toothpaste because if I stand it on the lid then the toothpaste is easier to dispense. To get to the toothpaste simply lift up the lid and give the bottle a bit of a squeeze and out comes the toothpaste. Because its a whitening toothpaste I was expecting it to be white which it is, but I was also sure there would be small grains in the toothpaste to give a bit of extra stain removal power. However, this is not so, and the toothpaste is just like any ordinary toothpaste. It has a pleasant minty flavour which is not at all overpowering, and does make my breath feel really fresh and my mouth and teeth clean

The toothpaste should be used twice a day as any other toothpaste and can be used with a manual or electric tooth brush.



VERDICT...

This is a decent enough toothpaste which lasts a while and has proved fine even for Little miss as she isn't keen on very " strong" toothpastes! it does make my teeth feel nice and clean and freshens breath but am not too sure about its whitening powers. I don't have particularly stained teeth so was expecting some whitening rather than a stain removal but this hasn't happened.

It is however a toothpaste I would buy again if on offer as its a make I trust, a style of packaging I prefer ( no lids left off!) and works well at making my teeth feel clean.
