As much as I want to be one of those people who have an electric toothbrush, and my teeth probably could do with it, I am very old school and behind the times as I still use a manual toothbrush. This particular toothbrush was bought from my local Home Bargains store for just short of £1.00, and it was a pack of three. I bought it in this format because it was cost effective and very cheap considering you got 3 altogether, plus it made it very handy to have some spare ones if and when needed. All 3 are medium firmness.
How is this product packaged?
It comes in a packet that has a plastic cover over the front of the toothbrushes and has a cardboard backing. The plastic on the front is see through so you can see the brushes and also the cardboard which from the front is red and blue, picture of a toothbrush cleaning some teeth in the left hand corner and the words extra clean down the side. On the front also is a sticker with the Colgate logo on it and stating to change your brush for better oral health.
On the back of the packaging, in various languages, it tells you what the toothbrush is supposed to do and contact details for Colgate.
What does the toothbrush look like?
The three in this set were all essentially the same, except certain areas were a different colour ( some of the brush brittles, down the back of the handle of the brush, around the bottom of the handle and around the middle. The colours on the toothbrushes are orange, green and blue but the rest of the toothbrush is white).
The handle is long and thin. It had rubberised sections on it, more around the areas that you are going to grip onto. This make holding the toothbrush comfortable and easy.Again, the shape of the toothbrush overall is designed so that fingers and thunbs can nustle into it, and lets face it, you will be brushing your teeth at least twice a day for up to two minutes at a time, it needs to not feel a chore and uncomfortable.
The actual brush itself is not completely flat. Some bristles are straight and flat, some are at an angle, some at different heights. This ensures the brush can get to and clean effectively all of your teeth regardless of position and size.
So what do I think of this product?
I think Colgate toothbrushes are priced very well, in fact, very cheapily which is great considering you do need to change your toothbrush regularly not only for hygene purposes but to ensure the toothbrush is still doing its job as after awhile there will be the usual wear and tear. Thats why I was pleased to buy this in a pack of 3, as I wont need to think about buying a new one for at least the next 6 months.
I cant say I get excited by how a toothbrush looks but they are attractive enough. They are comfortable and easy to use and gentle enough on my teeth not to damage them, but tough enough to remove dirt and food well.
Overall a good toothbrush which I have been buying and using for years. Because they are so readily available and come in various versions I dont need to worry about if I can repeat purchase, and the price itself is an added bonus.
It would have been nice though on the packaging to say how often you should change your toothbrush, but it didnt.
When it comes to toothbrushes I usually buy ones deisgned for children and this is due to the fact that a lot of the enamel has gone off my teeth so I like to use something a bit softer. However I recently needed a new toothbrush and spotted this Colgate one only costing a pound in my local B & M store and decided to buy it and try it out.
The toothbrush comes on a backed red and blue card and with the brush on that and covered by a plastic see through cover like thing that is easy to remove. On the card we are told what it is and who it by and that I selected the 'Medium' brush then on the back of that we are told not a lot of information but a bit about the brush 'Cleans and reaches back teeth' and contact details for the manufacturer are given as well as lots of information in foreign languages is also given.
The Brush Itself:
Well I had a few colours options including blue and red and went for the orange and basicallly....well it looks like a toothbrush to be perfectly honest with you!
What you get is a plastic and white curvy style brush which is long with rubberised feeling, orange (in my case) textured parts and Colgate (again in orange) is written up the handle. Its a comfy toothbrush to hold and the length of the brush is great too. The brush part is reasonably soft and again in my case is made up of a section white, yellow and orange bristles that are very well secured into the head
The brush head is slightly flexible and to the back of the head of the brush again I have orange lines which I assume is a tongue scraper in idea.....well I use it as that as I am not told on the packaging and it works effectively for me.
All in all this is a great toothbrush. Its nothing special but it offers good quality at a great price and does actually get in all the nooks and crannies of my mouth including my back teeth. It doesn't seem to harm my teeth at all either which is good for me!
Available in all good supermarkets and chemists and in packs of three as well.
A toothbrush is a toothbrush right ...... wrong, some toothbrushes are hard some toothbrushes are soft some leave your teeth feeling clean some need your teeth feeling no different. Some are manual some are electric.
This toothbrush is manual and is designed to give you 'Cleaner Teeth, Fresher Breath' it is available for as little as 46p the one I have is in orange they also come in other colours to and have the colgate logo printed on them. It has a easy grip handle bumpy on the part where you hold it, so it won't slip out of your hand when brushing as some tend too, or is that just me brushing to hard!. The bristles are soft and the head is shaped like a diamond so it can reach the teeth at the back of your mouth the bristles also get longer at the points of the diamond again meaning you can get those hard to reach places. On the back of the toothbrush there is a tongue cleaner which is bumpy but don't worry it does not hurt your mouth whilst brushing, I hate the toothbrushes you get with huge sticky out bits that hurt the inside of your mouth when you brush.
My teeth feel lovely and clean when I used this toothbrush and for 46p its a bargain, does the job it should.
Cleaning tip is specially designed to clean hard to reach areas / Polished, end-rounded bristles are designed to effectively clean while protecting enamel and gums / Non-slip rubber grip provides superior comfort and control /
