Advantages: easy to use, gives a good clean, easy to hold, cushioned

Disadvantages: None

I am very particular about brushing my teeth, and I always like to be sure my mouth is clean and as healthy as possible. This means I can be a bit picky about which toothbrushes I will use and I always change my toothbrush every three months, sometimes earlier if the brush is showing signs of falling apart.

I recently changed my toothbrush and I actually picked up a new one in my local Poundland, as I was shopping there when I remembered that I needed a new one, and any way to save some money is a good thing in my book.

There was quite a large selection of toothbrushes in Poundland, but after going through many different options, I finally settled on the Colgate Navigator. I have had Colgate brushes in the past, and I have always found them to be of great quality, so I was sure this one would be just as good. I had not heard of the Navigator before though, and I am unsure as to whether this is a new one, or just one I had not seen before.

The brush itself is pretty much the same as most standard manual toothbrushes, it has a handle and head. The handle is a little bit thicker than most toothbrushes I have had in the past, and this I find, makes it easier to hold onto. It is also easier to keep a grip on as there is a lot of textured pads of different sizes up and down the handle. These are soft to the touch, yet firm to the grip and I have not had any problems holding onto this brush.

The handle is also slightly cushioned, so it is more comfortable to hold onto whilst brushing. This may not seem like an important factor for a toothbrush, but there has been times when I hated holding my toothbrush as it seemed a chore just to hold it!

The head almost looks like the bristles are set in two parts, as there is a small gap between the top half and the bottom half of the bristles. I am not sure as to why this is, but I assume it to be for better flexibilty and cleaning of the teeth.

The head does look a little bit bigger than most toothbrushes, but when I am using it, it does not feel bigger in my mouth, and I actually find it quite easy to use this brush on all tooth surfaces and in all areas of my mouth.

The head is not too firm that it hurts your mouth and gums when you brush, but it is not too soft so that it is of no use. The toothbrush I bought has medium bristle stiffness, and I think this is just the perfect stiffness. There is no soreness or irritation to my gums, and my teeth are always beautifully clean, so all round, this is a winner I find.

Everytime I use this brush, my teeth feel wonderfully clean, and I have noticed they are looking cleaner lately as well. The brush is easy to use in all areas of your mouth, so you can be sure that you are cleaning all tooth surfaces when you brush. I think the reason this brush is called the Navigator, is because you can easily navigate around all the teeth in your mouth without a problem.

I think it is essential to your health to have a good clean mouth, and the way to start with this is a great toothbrush. I think the Colgate Navigator is a great toothbrush, and I will happily buy another one in 3 months time when it is time to change brushes.

Like I said, I bought my Colgate Navigator Toothbrush in Poundland, for the tiny price of £1, but you may also find this brush in places like Boots and Superdrug. If you can get one from Poundland, I recommend this as the way to go, as £1 for a great toothbrush equals extra awsome value to me!

I give this toothbrush 5 out of 5 stars, totally recommended.

Summary: A brilliant toothbrush from Colgate
