Colgate Plax Sensitive
I have always been a keen user of Colgate products. For some reason they never seem to disappoint me. Despite it not being the cheapest brand available, I am always willing to pay extra for the Colgate quality. I started buying this mouthwash a while ago when my teeth were going through a sensitive patch. The sensitivity in my teeth has since calmed down however I still buy this mouthwash as I think it definitely attributes to keeping it at bay.
This is an alcohol free mouthwash which is a lovely light pink colour. Its aim is to effectively kill germs whilst freshening breath and gently caring for sensitive teeth and gums. The mouthwash supposedly also offers 12 hour protection against bacteria and plaque.
I like the packaging of the mouthwash, it comes in a 500ml clear bottle. I like the fact that you can see the colour and consistency of the mouthwash through the bottle, there is nothing to hide, I can also see when I am running low.
You are meant to use the mouthwash twice a day, once at morning and once at night which is the typical mouthwash routine. A bottle usually lasts me a few weeks at least and I do use it twice a day.
I trust this mouthwash to do its job effectively and to be safe to my teeth. It is clinically tested by dentists and I have only ever had positive effects from Colgate products. The ingredients all look very chemical to me but as long as the amount instructed is used and none of it is swallowed I trust that it is only having a good effect on my mouth.
The mouthwash smells very strong of mint, but a good mint smell like spearmint, almost like a melted bottle of polo's. The consistency is thin like water and the taste is rather nice. It doesn't taste chemically, it just tastes of sweet mint and there is no rancid aftertaste either.
Results
I use this mouthwash daily and the reason is because I have not found another which keeps my mouth feeling fresher for longer. I like how there is no alcohol in the mouthwash as it makes it taste a lot better and there is no aftertaste. I never need to use the full amount recommended for it to be effective either which is always a plus as that way the bottle lasts a little bit longer.
This mouthwash does not irritate my gums or leave a burning sensation in my mouth. When I use it I really do feel that it is protecting my teeth and gums and not doing them any harm. It is sensitive to my teeth and after use my mouth feels clean and refreshed.
As far as it lasting for 12 hours, it would be nice to find a mouthwash that does in fact do that but I think that it is a bit over ambitious. If I don't use the mouthwash at night then I can tell the difference though which shows me it definitely does something for the 12 hours.
Opinion
Overall I really like this mouthwash and I wouldn't use another, for now. I definitely would recommend it to anyone who doesn't feel like they are getting the most out of their mouthwash as this one certainly ticks all the boxes for me.
Available in most supermarkets and pharmacies costing approximately £3 which I find to be great value for money.

Summary: A great mouthwash, refreshing and kind to teeth and gums.
