Advantages: A very good all round toothpaste
Disadvantages: Very sweet and a little hot when initially used
Just lately my teeth have been feeling really sensitive. I thought at first I had a problem with some top back teeth on the left hand side of my mouth as I do suffer with enamel loss on all of my teeth due to an eating disorder but then I got the same teeth, the other side of my mouth playing up to and twigged it was probably down to sensitivity that I have suffered on and on with over the years!
They all hurt when I was eating, drinking and whether it be hot cold....whatever. I couldn't bear a lot of things going near my teeth.
I've been using Colgate toothpaste for a while now and I've been very plesed with the results so when I was in Asda I decided to buy a tube of this Colgate Sensitive Pro Relief Toothpaste as it only cost £2.50 for large 75ml tube and compared to other sensitive toothpaste on the shelves this was actually the cheapest offering they had apart from Asda's own brand and I really wanted somehthing that would help!
The tube of toothpaste comes in a very nice, professional looking white, red and turqouise coloured box and on one side of that we are told that it is indeed Colgate Sensitive Pro Relief, Enamel Repir and that it has a clinically proven Pro-Argin Formula 'Instant & lasting relief' and the size is stated (As I've listed already). Other information listed on the box includes being told a bit about the product nd how it is works, we are told how to use it and the ingredients are given as well as contact details for Colgate. Inside there is a white leaflet, again we are told a bit about the product and warings are listed and so on and then the tube looks pretty much in keeping style wise with the box, is a squeezy mainly white plasrtic tube with large twist/on off cap to one end of it and contains all the same informtion as given on everything else really. Easy to use, squeeze and so on this is!
Well to use this ll you do is as you would do any other toothpaste of course and you can use it twice a day and this is also suitable for children to use. You can also use this to pop on your finger and rest it against sensitive teeth to numb the pain which takes around a minute if you need to which is good for instnt relief
The toothpaste itself is white, smooth and thick, smells really minty and tastes it too though it is rather sweet and a tiny bit hot in flavour. It foams up in the mouth too when it gets moist, feels smooth in use and doesn't irritate my teeth at all.
This is meant to work by blocking the channels that cause sensitivity and give us pain and I have to be fair that as well as leaving me with clean feeling teeth that are smooth and fresh and with fresh breath this has helped my sensitive teeth rather alot. I use it daily and although I can't say they are 100% ok and that I have no issues at all twith my teeth hey have really helped me and I will continue to use it before I go to check with my dentist to make sure all that is going is senstivity after all in there. Does this help with enamel? I m not sure and course I cannot vouch for that but if it does help that can only be a good thing too!
So would I recommend this? Yes I would actually! Its kinder and more gentle to my sore teeth and gums just make sure that when you buy this you treat yourself to a softer bristled toothbrush too!
Available in all good chemists and supermarkets etc.
