Mrs D used to work a long time ago for Co-operative Insurance and there was a manager there she used to detest - his name was Mansell and he used to insist on spraying that foul Gold Spot stuff into his mouth following his dinner - didn't work! Toothpaste is the only answer...

...toothpaste, a necessary evil, a part of the day, something you must not forget for fear of sending your stinking breath across the faces of all your works colleague with that tell tale whiff of last night's curry still there for all to remark upon...

We used to be a Colgate family about five or six years ago and then Mrs D suggested we should try McLeans for some reason (perhaps there was 2p off, she cares about stuff like that...)

All I know is that now when we stay at the inlaws house and forget our supply of McL and have to make do with their badly twisted tube of Colgate, I always get a shudder as I taste what is by comparison a very sweet and sickly taste - there's no way now that I could go back to Colgate after the heaven that is McL - which leaves a clean, fresh taste in your mouth - Colgate by comparison leaves you feeling almost like you've had one of those sticky jam doughnuts - not my idea of heaven in the morning...

In fact, there are only two things which I find more distasteful and it's these -

1 - There is a green, mint flavoured toothpaste (I'm pretty sure that it's another brand of Colgate) and when I use that one I have to be absolutely desperate because the taste of it makes me feel like throwing up - I actually retch...

2 - The red, white and blue banded paste, is it Ultrabrite? Whichever one it is makes me feel sickly as well.

I suppose that next to these two products from Hell, Colgate Original is not that bad after all, it's just that it suffers badly by comparison woth McL. It probably still is my second favourite, although it would take me a long, long time to get used
to it again.

It is pretty effective and both cleans your teeth and leaves your breath smelling quite acceptable, although the vindaloo can still get through, so be warned...
