This is a review of the Colgate Twister Toothbrush I am currently using. I like to replace my toothbrush regularly and whilst I am not fussy about what toothbrush I have, I usually buy a Colgate branded brush as I generally use their toothpaste too.
The Twister brush is a medium bristle brush which is good as I tend to brush too hard with a firm bristle and worry about damaging the enamel. It is available in a number of different colours but I chose pink. There are multiple cleaning dimensions on the brush as it has a unique twister bristle pattern (hence the name). It gets between teeth and along the gum line and also includes a special tongue cleaner on the head too.
I was really surprised about how slim the handle is on this brush. I do have large hands for a lady and it felt really quite lost in my hand, I must admit I prefer a bigger handle to grip on to. As for the special twister head, I didn't particularly notice the difference between this and other brushes but it did make my teeth feel clean to be fair.
I bought this brush from the Pound shop for just £1. I don't really like paying a lot more for a toothbrush as I said earlier, I do like to change them regularly.
I won't buy this style of tooth brush again purely for the fact that the slim line handle irritated me. I have never noticed before the handle being annoying on a toothbrush so this one must be really thin. I thought the price was good and it looked like a nice design in the packaging. No repurchase on the cards for me.
I like to change my toothbrush nice and regular and when I saw this on the sterling pharmacy website I decided to order a couple for me and my fiancé.
I paid just 96p each for these are they are provided in the standard toothbrush packaging with a plastic front and a cardboard back with a perforated area to push in or out and get to your toothbrush. The toothbrush is yellow with blue, white & green bristles and one of the great features about this toothbrush is that the blue bristles will turn white when it's time to replace your toothbrush. This does work as well as I am about to finish using this toothbrush and hopefully buy another one of the same make.
The toothbrush has a rubber, ribbed section on the back of the toothbrush and this is for brushing your tongue with which helps to get rid of bacteria which may give you bad breath. I did find that this made me gag a little bit it was something that I persevered with as I knew it was helping keep my tooth in tip top condition.
The handle of this toothbrush was very comfortable to hold and I found that the bristles were very effective at keeping my teeth and gums nice and clean and after use I just felt like my mouth had had a really deep, intense clean. I was overall very pleased with this toothbrush, as was my fiancé and I am hoping to purchase some more of these this week and get a few extra so that we are stocked up. I have looked in supermarkets, Boots & Superdrug for this but they don't appear to be stocking them which is a shame as they are fantastically priced and have lasted around 3-4 months with twice daily+ usage. It was a fantastic toothbrush at a bargain price and one I will definitely be using again. I purchased mine from sterlingpharmacy.co.uk and this is where I intend on buying them again. I am rating this toothbrush 5/5 as I was suitably impressed that it lived up to it's claims.
