... The initial taste whilst its in your mouth isn't too bad if I'm being honest. Quite minty and fresh and you can feel a slight burning sensation. After a few minutes though that taste wears off and your left with a pretty nasty metallic taste in the mouth, although one's breath will still smell fresh. For the first few days my gums would still bleed after brushing my teeth and I did feel like it wasn't working. After a week though I noticed my mouth feeling generally fresher than when I just brushed my teeth with too...more

Corsodyl Daily Defence: Great for oral hygiene, be aware of the aftertaste! (564 words)

I started using Corsodyl daily after my dentist recommended me to use it. I had a mild case of gum disease that I had managed to get rid of, although my dentist informed me of using Corsodyl Daily to maintain my oral hygiene. My dentist also told me my teeth would stop bleeding slowly overtime but that Corsodyl daily would speed up this process, by killing off bacteria in and around my teeth and gums. Luckily my stepfather works as an assistant at the dentist's so I managed to get a few bottles of this for free. I was scared to take it at first. A few friends I know had some in the past and told me it tasted terrible (Not as bad as Corsodyl, the non daily variant though)  Read the complete review

After a delightful trip to the dentist, I had to encounter my first filling experience and it was not long before I was on the lookout for a whole range of dental products to keep my mouth as healthy as possible. I picked up the Corsodyl Toothpaste in Asda one evening and how could I possibly have refused the Corsodyl Daily Defence mouthwash to go with it? With the attractive price of only £3 as it was on offer from the usual price of £4.50 it was a no questions asked situation and in the trolley it went. *** About the Corsodyl Daily Defence Mouthwash *** This mouthwash is made by GlaxoSmithKline in the UK and is sold under the name 'Corsodyl' which ...  Read the complete review

Corsodyl Daily Defence: Dragon breath slayer (708 words)

Recently I've had a lot of work done on my teeth and have been experiencing a hint of gum problems despite fastidious dental hygiene and using dentasticks, and an electric toothbrush. My dentist recommended Corsodyl Daily Defence. I bought it in Tesco for £4.50 for 500ml, it's more expensive at Boots, but you may be able to find it cheaper elsewhere it also comes in alcohol free version Personally I think £4.50 is too expensive for this product but I haven't been able to find it much cheaper elsewhere. The one I use is fresh mint flavour, and contains chlorhexidine digluconate 0.2% w/v. This is an antibacterial ingredient which performs two functions in ...  Read the complete review

Healthy teeth and gums (461 words)

I have become a bit obsessed lately with Corsodyl products ever since my dentist informed me that I had gum disease which was brought on by my smoking and not flossing. He prescribed some anti biotics and told me to corsodyl mouthwash for a couple of weeks. The mouthwash in combination with the anti-biotics got the bleeding and recessed gums back under control but I am now extra vigilant in my oral hygiene. I have only recently discovered the Corsodyl daily defence products and have become a real fan in a short amount of time. I think the original Corsodyl is an amazing product for gums but it is only supposed to be used when you actually have gum disease and ...  Read the complete review

Corsodyl Daily Defence: Great on gum disease (434 words)
by - written on 11/08/11 (Very useful, 92 readings)
Rating:

One of the joys of pregnancy is bleeding gums as your body pumps more blood around your system. For this reason pregnant women are warned about this and also get free dental care on the NHS. Not wanting to suffer gum disease I was recommended to use a mouthwash in addition to my usual flossing and brushing. There are a variety of mouthwashes on the market but Corsodyl was one that I had heard good things about so decide to try it. Although I had heard very positive comments about its effectiveness I was concerned about the taste as a coupe of people said they disliked it. Although not a delicious minty taste it was better than I had anticipated. To ...  Read the complete review
