I have tried a number of different mouthwashes over the years, some have warranted a repurchase, others I have failed to finish the first bottle. I find that branded mouthwash always usually tastes a little bit stronger and seems to be more effective than the weaker supermarket home-brand ones. In theory the Corsodyl Mint Mouthwash I bought had a lot to live upto as the reputation of this stuff is lethal!

Corsodyl Mint Mouthwash is an antiseptic mouthwash that contains chlorohexidine which fights bacteria and viruses which are the main cause of throat infections and ulcers. Dentists recommend this particular brand of mouthwash due to its effectiveness at fighting such problems. It is prescribed by dentists for a whole host of oral health issues.

The taste is very refreshing indeed. As the flavour is mint it certainly packs a punch, and the cooling sensation lasts in my mouth for a short time after use. This mouthwash doesn't leave a nasty aftertaste and as the flavour is very strong and fresh it feels as if it is much more powerful than any other mouthwash I have used in the past. This is probably because it is probably one of the very best and most effective mouthwash products on the market. The Corsodyl Mint Mouthwash is green in colour and by just sniffing the solution my eyes often water! This mouthwash is available in most good chemists and dental practices and costs around £4 for a 300ml bottle.

The results from its use are very impressive. My mouth feels a lot cleaner and fresher. The antiseptic ingredients are probably responsible for the strong taste, and due to this it isn't for the feint-hearted! Ultimately though my motuh feels a lot more refreshed after using this mouthwash. Prolonged use isn't recommended, possibly due to its strength. It is often given out after dental surgery etc. and I would imagine it is advisable to use only at these sorts of times. For general day to day use I would suggest something a little bit milder is sought. This isn't to say it has an adverse affect on your oral health in the longer term, but I think its sheer strength isn't healthy for prolonged use.

As an antiseptic mouthwash when looking after your oral health is most important (after surgery or for treating infections) it is a great product to use. The results are impressive as my teeth feel much cleaner and refreshed during its use. However, due to the strength of it I cannot recommend it as a long-term solution to oral hygiene.
