Advantages: Looks really cool
Disadvantages: Not sure it actually works
Sainsbury's were doing this on offer BOGOF just after they first came out on sale, I remember watching the advert thinking 'Why will they not show us what was in the ladies sink', after all the lady in the advert used it and seemed ashamed of the results after spitting! It took me back to my school days when we were all told to brush our teeth then given the little pink tablet to chew that showed up the food etc still visible on our teeth!
I couldn't wait to try this, I bought the clove one purely because it was pink and blue and a better colour than the green, I love clove sweets (probably not the best thing to admit on a mouthwash review but never mind!) How horrible could it be? After vigorously brushing my teeth, I shook the bottle to mix the two ingredients, and have to admit I did watch the bottle to see them separate again, yes I know I need to get a life! After shaking again, I measured out a capful and popped it into my mouth; I swished it round and round giving it time to do its magic, then after a tense few moments, spat it into the sink to see the results.........a bit disappointing if I am honest! There were pink bits of......I don't really know what, I am not sure it was food or plaque as it wasn't the right consistency. I didn't get up close and personal with it I just washed the sink round and put it down to experience. I have also tried not brushing my teeth before hand and using it and there was not a great deal of difference in quantity of specks left in the sink afterwards. This also leads me to think it isn't actually food stuff.
The taste isn't unpleasant, after all I like cloves, it's not over powering like some brands, but it didn't stay with me for that long either. I am not sure how good this mouthwash really is, I think the whole two ingredients is just a bit of a gimmick to get people to purchase it. It worked for me but now I have finished my two bottles, I can't see my buying another one, not even if it is on offer!
Summary: Gimmick
