Listerine Smart Rinse Berry Mouthwash
Advantages: Leaves your mouth clean and fresh-does what is says on the bottle
The new Listerine is here, and is actually a new product, not just the same one with a different name, such as the likes of Coke Zero.
The appearance of the bottle is maybe a slight downside. The bottle looks fairly cheap and the lid looks quite boring and basic. However, the logo is slightly better, as it is meant to entice people looking for a more mild mouthwash or children and does that fairly well. The overall layout of the bottle is poorly constructed and generally worse looking than other Listerine bottles seen on the shelves of shops, due to the shape and logos on the bottle, which could suggest that the design was rushed, so the product could be placed on the market quicker. However, the design could be argued as simple but effective, as people are looking for something simple for their children and this demonstrates something that is clearly aimed at a younger generation, as the bottle is fairly simple to use as it contains a simple screw top, rather than a locking screw top found on other Listerine bottles that prevent young children from consuming the product.
The taste is much different, and unlike the previous Listerine mouthwashes that are on the market, this one is much less strong and alcoholic and more gentle on the mouth. If you have a small cut, no pain is felt, as the previous Listerine products caused a great deal of upset in the mouth and stinging could be felt for up to minutes are afterwards. The taste, however is much like a strawberry squash drink and is no more strong than one. The taste is, however pleasant and leaves a quite nice taste in your mouth shortly afterwards. Overall, the taste is very good, and is much different than any other products on the market.
The mouthwash is fairly effective, and highlights the areas you have missed which is always good, as you know that you have got the areas that you have missed/could not get to in the mouth. Also a standard test of when you have finished your brushing, running your tongue around your teeth and then seeing if there is any difference when you do this again after using the mouth wash has proved successful and that the mouthwash works. However, a downside is that if you use the mouthwash alone, it doesn't have a very good effect like the other Listerine mouthwashes. But, as this is aimed at younger people, they would only use after brushing their teeth, so even though it is an issue, the point of the mouthwash is for use after brushing.
Price/value for money
Listerine Smart rinse is quite expensive compared to other mouth washes at £2.49 for 250ml or £4.19 for 500ml in boots for the product. But it is still very much worth the extra money as it does provide what it says on the bottle and it does provide something new in the world of mouth care.
Listerine Smart rinse can be found more commonly in larger stores, such as Boots and Superdrug, but not so much in small shops or chemists like other Listerine products, although a few do stock it now and more will do so over time but it is a new product, and it will soon be more common and be found more universally around the world of retail.
The new Listerine smart rinse is a must buy for people looking for a good, not too strong mouthwash, and I would highly recommend it, although it is expensive, it is definitely worth it. The only thing letting it down is the packaging, but still, it is more what's inside the bottle that counts. As they say, never judge a book by its cover.
Summary: A very good buy, Definately worth the extra money.
