Advantages: Easy to use, leaves teeth white, leaves mouth and breath minty, cheap.
Disadvantages: Texture is weird, using one tab is to much.
I recently saw these in Lush, and as I never saw them before, I assume they are a new, and they are basically a solid toothpaste, which sounds crazy! I decided to give them a try as they looked unique, and wanted to see if they really would be better then toothpaste! Also the Dirty Toothy Tabs are unisex.
The packaging of the Dirty Toothy Tabs is very simple, they are in a cardboard box, which is black and has white writing on. The packaging is completely recyclable. The product claims that the Dirty Toothy Tabs are "revolutionary, innovative tooth cleansing tabs", which is quite a claim! The white part of the box is pull out, which reveals the small square, where you can get the product out. I haven't counted the products, but looks like you get about 20 tabs per box. The Dirty Toothy Tabs are basically small and pill shaped, which are a dirty, white colour. The size of tabs are a round the size of the polo, but they are solid and more built up then mints, which they look abit like. Ingredients are written on the side of the box, in white lettering. This product is also suitable for Vegans. No ingredients are tested on animals either.
To use the Dirty Toothy Tabs is easy, but it is completely different to toothpaste, to use the toothpaste, you just:
1. Put the Dirty Toothy Tab in your mouth and crunch it up.
2. Start brushing with a wet toothbrush, which will cause the foam to work on your teeth.
3. Brush for the usual amount of time (around 3 minutes).
4. Rinse as normal.
The use of the product was really easy, the crunching was a little tough, but was just like biting a mint, and the little bits of the tab in my mouth was weird, as I just wanted to spit them out. The texture was completely different from anything, the nearest to it is a very crumbly mint or solid sweet, it has similarities to having the solid round mints. I didn't really like the texture, it was too weird, wish they could have made the product more paste like. Brushing the teeth was very similar to if you used toothpaste, but it caused a foaming in the mouth, which enabled the brushing to be done easy, and it felt like it was working, which was weird and different to other toothpastes.
The Dirty Toothy Tabs smelt slightly of spearmint as a solid form, which is similar to the smell of mints. The taste of the tabs, while brushing, was very spearmint like, which was quite strong, way to strong for me, so I had to spit some of it out because of the strong taste. The lasting taste of the spearmint was nice, it lasted throughout the day, and gave the whole of my mouth a minty taste, which also improved my breath, a really nice bonus for a toothpaste!
The effects of using the toothpaste were really beneficial, it made my breath and mouth smell gorgeous and minty, which was really nice! But I have to say it was not much different to the effects of using a good toothpaste. The biggest effect was the improvement on the white-ness of my teeth, my teeth did look very white, which was a real benefit! They looked really good, white and healthy, which was surprising for a toothpaste. The big downfall was the amount of tabs you use, a whole tab was way to much for my mouth, to overpowering, so I would recommend to spilt the Dirty Toothy Tabs, to make it better to use.
The Lush Dirty Toothy Tabs are available at Lush stores and Lush online (www.lush.co.uk) and costs £2 for 12g, which is around 20 tabs.
Summary: Nice benefits, but I'm not giving up my toothpaste.
