I often get freebies through the post and my latest was a small tube of Oral B Pro Expert Toothpaste. My sample was a little 15ml tube, enough to give it a good try. A full size 75ml tube costs round about £3.49 but is currently on offer in Tesco for £2.32.

The tube is white and blue, mine has a screw top lid. The front is taken up with a blue block which has the Oral B logo on it. It also informs the customer that it is Pro Expert, an antibacterial and fluoride toothpaste. It also states that Oral B Pro Expert will give you " all round protection" and " protects the areas that your dentist checks the most". It also claims to:-

Prevent cavities, plaque, tartar & gum problems
Build increasing protection against painful sensitivity
Whiten teeth by removing surface stains
Prevent enamel erosion
Freshen breath
Its also clinically proven for all around protection. So, a lot of promises from one tube!

The back of the tube is taken up with ingredients and a small warning that children under 12 years should not use it. The flavour of this toothpaste is given as clean mint.

On removing the lid the toothpaste is quite a bright blue colour and actually seems to be a cross between a paste and a gel, I gave it a sniff. Pro Expert has a strong clove smell, there is a minty element to it but clove is definitely the main smell to this. The toothpaste feels slightly gritty when you rub it between your fingers. I put some on my tooth brush and cleaned my teeth. Not only does it smell of clove but that is the main taste too. IT does leave a cool feeling in your mouth while brushing but personally I didn't think it was very minty.

Whilst brushing, although it felt like the toothpaste was cleaning my teeth I was slightly concerned that it wouldn't leave my mouth and breath fresh. I was wrong. It wasn't until after I had finished brushing that the cool minty effect kicked in and my mouth did feel extremely cool and fresh. Oral B left my teeth feeling clean and smooth. I was pleased with the effect.

I like the clove taste of Oral B toothpaste, its a bit different to what we usually buy. My mum also had a sample of this and she said it reminds her of the taste of the original Dentyne chewing gum. I personally have never tried that but to me the taste is most definitely clove with an after kick of mint.

I cant say whether all the claims on the tube work because only time would tell but I can say that I have suffered absolutely no sensitivity with my teeth since using this. I do suffer quite badly with sensitive teeth and usually use a sensitive toothpaste so I was doubtful this one would work. However as I said it most definitely does work on sensitive teeth.

I would recommend giving Oral B Pro Expert a try, its a pleasant tasting toothpaste that not only leaves my teeth and mouth feeling clean and fresh for some time after brushing but it works well on sensitive teeth too. I will be buying this in future.
