Mouth ulcers are extremely painful as anyone who has had one will know and they don't generally seem to go on their own very quickly so need a bit of help. This Aloclair spray was actually given to me by my mother in law last year when my husband had two massive ulcers one each side of his mouth which obviously made it very difficult for him to eat and were very large and painful. My mother in law can not remember how much she paid for it but I have looked online and the price varies from £3.47 to £6.10 so you need to shop round for it.
It is only 15ml so is a very small bottle but it is supposed to be enough for 100 sprays so it should last for some time. It was almost new when we had it and has probably been used for approximately 20 sprays for my husband and then I used it last month when I had bitten the inside of my mouth and it turned into a nasty ulcer so I would say there is still enough for quite a few more uses. The use by date is 2016 so there is no need to worry about it going off.
To use you just need to point the opening in the nozzle towards the ulcer or lesion in your mouth and are instructed to spray it three or four times a day or more if needed. It forms an invisible barrier over the ulcer so it can start to heal and it does not contain alcohol so there is no sting when it goes on. I found that I only used it for a couple of days using 2 sprays twice a day and found that my ulcer started to go down very quickly and the roughness disappeared so I didn't keep catching it with my teeth. Also the pain which is caused by your nerve endings being exposed due to the ulcer breaking through the top layer of your skin felt much calmer and cooler even after the first application. As the bottle is quite small you can be quite accurate in your direction of the spray so you don't waste much if any of the liquid.
You should not eat or drink for at least an hour after using this spray as it forms a protective barrier to help the inflammation go down so you don't want to wash this away. It does not sting at all and it starts to sooth the pain and discomfort straight away after applying. It is supposed to last for up to six hours but I would say that it lasted around three to four for me and then I used it again.
The ingredients include Aloe Vera extract which help to ease pain and stop irritation and it is safe it accidentally swallowed. You do sometimes swallow a small amount if you swallow just after or as you are spraying but there is not much taste to it other than a slightly medicated taste but this is not unpleasant. It is suitable for all the family and like most medicine you should store it at room temperature and not leave it in direct sunlight.
This is a very effective product for mouth ulcers and it can also be used for chafing and irritation which can be caused by braces and ill fitting dentures. It is easy to apply and is very hygienic as you don't have to touch the ulcer with your fingers so contamination is kept to a minimum. I am sure that you can get cheaper brands than this but I can say that this one has worked well for myself and my husband and I would buy it again.
As a chronic sufferer of mouth ulcers I have tried almost everything there is to try! I saw this in Boots a year or so ago and having previously used their mouthwash I thought I would give this a go. The spray comes in a 15ml bottle which is made of brown glass, it has a white spray nozzle which allows you to reach ulcers even in the most awkward of places. The spray costs around £3.50 depending on where you buy it and it can be picked up in Boots as well as all supermarkets.
A mouth ulcer as all sufferes know is a small cut or leision in the mouth. These small leisions expose the nerve endings which cause the pain associated with mouth ulcers. The product works by forming an invisible barrier over the mouth ulcer protecting the exposed nerve endings. This in turn helps the ulcer to heal as the barrier protects from bacteria and food which can make the ulcer worse by causing an infection or increasing the sixe of the ulcer.
The ingredients are listed as;
Deionised Water. Maltodextrin, Propylene Glycol, Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), Aloe Vera Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benpzate, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Caster Oil, EDTA, Benzalkonium Chloride, Aroma, Sacchrin Sodium, Glycyrrhetinic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate.
The product is really simple to use, you simply aim the spray at the mouth ulcer and spray 1-3 times to cover the affected area.
The product has a slight aniseed flavour and it is safe to swallow. The product provides instant relief to your mouth ulcers. It does not sting on contact with the ulcer. After using this I noticed the immediate cooling relief to the area. I didn't notice the 'layer' that it leaves on the ulcer. But I did feel a noticeable improvement in the pain that lasted a good few hours. The leaflet in the box says it lasts up to 6 hours. You can use this as often as you need to. It is also safe for children. You can also keep the bottle for 12 months when opened. It lasts a long time too as it is a spray you can control how much you use.
I am a huge fan of this product and would give it 5 out of 5 stars it really does work, you can also get a mouthwash and a gel. The spray is easy to carry and it is hygenic as it never needs to touch any part of your mouth.
Lets face it, we have all suffered from at least one mouth ulcer in our life. I regularly get them although I am unaware if this is through diet or eating technique etc. Mouth ulcers are just one of those things that you can't anticipate happening until it appears, and the pain can be terrible. Depending on the position of the mouth ulcer, if it is near my lips or on my cheek where my teeth rub against it, it can be very painful. Ulcers can be caused by tissue injury such as biting the inside of your mouth accidently, through stress or vitamin or mineral dificiency - the exact extent of the causes are unknown.
There is no getting away from the fact that mouth ulcers are a pain to deal with and I have tried numerous products to deal with them. The one I have had most success with has to be the Aloclair Spray. This product is said to prevent bacteria further infecting the mouth ulcer by forming a protective barrier on the ulcer. By using this spray the more common ulcers usually heal withing 7-10 days of treatment.
The Aloclair Spray is simple and easy to apply, depending on where the mouth ulcer is located. I find that if the ulcer is at the back of my mouth I have difficulty getting a good aim at it with the trigger spray and it usually takes a little longer to heal than ulcers situated well for spraying. To me, this shows just how effective the spray is. Once applied, the spray provides long lasting pain relief and is a non sting treatment. I use it quite often and am used to the pump action spray as opposed to the gel that most competitors provide. The cooling, soothing aloe vera in the spray allows me to get on with my day in the knowledge that the mouth ulcer will soon be cleared - usually within a week. The Aloclair Spray costs around £4 for a 15ml can which has lasted me through a number of ulcer treatments.
I would say that if you are having little or no success with the gels available for the treatment of mouth ulcers then this spray could be for you. I found that gels just slide off the ulcer whereas the spray creates an instant barrier that will last long enough to be able to take effect on the ulcer - recommended.
I will be the first one to admit that my diet at this present time is not good and due to the sheer amount of sugar I intake I am frequently coming up with mouth ulcers and doing a job that involves a lot of talking and speaking in front of groups this can work out to be quite painful. I had tired other products before I decided to purchase this Alocliar Spray and came across it merely by accident within a store one day and have never looked back since! Even the most severe ulcers this has cured and I am greatful for its existence.
What this item advertises itself as is a spray that, by sectioning off the ulcer and putting some sort of preventative barrier around it, heals it more quickly than if it had been left or when compared to other rival brands and I for one would certainly agree. Whereas other ulcers lasted for nigh on a week with me, when using this spray the ulcer is gone within 24 hours. Its that good I am spraying it and totally forgetting I had an ulcer.
The bottle is quite simple, you attach the nozzle yourself and you simply point the spray at your ulcer, spray around three times, not much liquid comes out each time otherwise you would end up with it all over your face...and leave. The bottle alone has lasted me well over a year and basically this will rarely be replaced.
Does it sting? I must admit a little. It doesn't taste very nice first time either but that soon settles and no residue or bad taste is left. You can feel it working though which is always a good sign with medical treatments as half the time you find it hard to tell if the devices are working but with this you have no worries. It doesn't burn or freeze, but it does sting a tad as I had said.
I paid £4.99 for this in a small bottle which will last years and it has been nothing but a rip roaring success. Gone are the days of waiting days for an ulcer to die down and going through all the pain and discomfort that comes with that, now three sprays of Aloclair and bye bye ulcers. A gem of a product!

When I was a teenager I often suffered from the plague of mouth ulcers but at the ripe old age of 27 I thought I'd got over it! However, it seems not and after a particularly unpleasant bout of the blighters last week I was given this 'miracle' product to try by my wonderful mom!
WHAT ARE MOUTH ULCERS? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The lining in your mouth is incredibly sensitive and a break in the surface creates a lesion that reveals sensitive nerve endings which equals great pain and inconvienience!
It is estimated that around 75% of the population will suffer from mouth ulcers at some atage in their life.
WHAT CAUSES THEM? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Accidental damage can cause ulcers, so far example brushing your teeth to hard, biting your mouth or drinking drinks that are too hot.
You can also get aphtous ulcers which occur if someone is stressed or run down or ulcers caused through B12 or iron deficiencys.
Food and bacteria can infect the sore making the ulcer increase in size and last longer which is where this product comes in!
WHAT IS THE PRODUCT AND WHAT DOES IT DO? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Aloclair spray is one of the products Aloclair offers that in their words 'forms a strong and protective barrier over the ulcer to promote fast healing'
It claims to be a non stinging, fast acting, long lasting solution that relieves pain within minutes and lasts up to 6 hours.
The spray comes in a glass bottle which is housed in a cardboard box with the company claims and logos on it, along with directions for use, ingredients and contact details.
On top of the bottle is a lid which once removed reveals the spray pump. There is an applicator to attatch the first time its used and we're told to direct the spray towards the ulcer and spray 3 times or as required.
The packaging claims that one bottle can last up to 100 sprays but I couldn't confirm this as I haven't got to the bottom of the bottle yet!
MY EXPERIENCE ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To be honest Im a bit of a wimp with applying medicines etc and so I found the initial application quite difficult. This is because you do have to press quite hard for the pump to spray and I was a little 'scared' as to what to expect! However once I'd done it the first time and realised it wasn't actually that bad it got less traumatic!
The spray has a v mild liquorice/aniseed flavour (it tastes like those dark fox sweets you can get at the moment!) I dont like liquorice but didn't find the tast in any way offensive so please dont let this put you off.
The spray felt a little cold on application.
If you 'hit' the ulcer directly it can sting a little bit but it isn't at all painful.
I intantly felt that something was happening for the better!
WAS IT ANY GOOD? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Although the company claim the product works in minutes, I felt as though it worked almost instantly with the pain I was experiencing definitely decreasing. This could have been the soothing aloe vera the spray contains, it could have been psychological - whatever it was it was working!
If I was just sat at work or doing everyday things I didn't notice the ulcer at all once I'd applied aloclair, on eating I could still feel a little bit of discomfort but nowhere near as bad as it was without.
Despite the claim it lasts up to 6 hours I found I reapplied within about 3.

OTHER GOOD POINTS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My relatives that have tried this spray state that the shelf life on it is very good, even once opened. I havent been able to find an offical time but some have had it 12months + and still find it works effectively. Maybe this is something you could check on ourchase I didnt think!
