When I saw this Gold Spot mint spray in a local pound shop I bought it straight away as I used to use this many years ago but had not seen it for sale for some time. It comes in a small blue box which gives you the ingredients and instructions for use and the box contains the small mouth spray.
The ingredients are Aqua, Alcohol, Glycerin, Aroma, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil , Sodium, Saccharin , Cetylpyridinium, Chloride and Limonene. The spray itself is only 11ml and is quite small so it could get lost in the bottom of a large bag but it is easy to slip into your pocket or a small pocket in your bag or briefcase. It is advised to keep it away from your eyes but unless you spray it directly into your eyes this shouldn't be a problem.
The Gold Spot instant breath freshener comes in a small blur bottle which a tiny cap which you pull off to use. This is very easy to drop so you do have to be careful with it. I will always hold the cap while I am spraying and then I have it ready to clip back on afterwards. It has a spray top nozzle which you simply aim into your mouth and press the nozzle. I will hold the spray almost inside my mouth and then usually spray it just once unless I have just eaten a particularly strong curry or something with a lot of garlic in and then I will spray it twice and then repeat as often as necessary. You can taste the mintyness straight away and it is quite tingly on your tongue but is not unpleasant.
I have had my current one for around three months and although I am not sure how much is left as it is light anyway it is showing no signs of running out. I would say that on average I will use it about twice a week. I think that this is ideal to carry round for when you need a bit of freshness in your mouth, either after eating strong food or if you are out all day and want to recreate that just brushed feeling.
It would also be good for the morning after the night before when you have that awful stale taste in your mouth that no amount of drinks can mask, however I have not had cause to use it for this. Note to self - must go out more! I am glad that I bought this breath spray as it does get rid of nasty tastes and freshens my breath whenever I need it.
I like to use a breath freshener and I can get a little bit paranoid about whether or not my breath smells. I often ask my husband if it smells fresh and he always says it does, though to be honest I don't really think his sense of smell is that great. It's when I am at work that I become more paranoid, and it's only the closest of friends who I am sure would dare to tell me if it smelled a bit stale. It's for this reason that I lie to use a regular breath freshener. I cannot chew gum whilst I am at work (otherwise it wouldn't look very professional and I don't think my bosses would be too impressed) so I use a spray in the moth breath freshener and the one I am using at present is Gold Spot, which I am sure has been around for years now. I vary between his breath freshener and another brand and I really don't have much of a preference between the two as they both work really effectively and help to give me more confidence.
Gold Spot is available in most supermarkets and chemists and last time I bought a bottle it cost me just under £2 from Tesco's It's in a small and very slim looking little spray canister so it is really very handy to pop into my bag whilst I am at work and no-one notices (I think) if I have a little spray of this whilst in the ladies loos before going to my desk.
One of these canisters lasts me for months, even though I use Gold Spot just about every single day (and at least two times). I spray at the back of the mouth and it lands on my tongue. The spray feels very cold and fresh as soon as it hits my mouth and the flavour and smell is extremely strong and minty. It makes you want ot smack tour mouth together and feels like you have been eating very strong minty sweets. The taste and smell soon disappear and it leaves a nice fresh minty taste in your mouth, pretty much like you would feel after just giving your teeth a good brush.
On the odd occasion, I do get a bit heavy handed and spray too much, and on these occasions it can feel quite bitter at the back of my throat, which I don't really like. It's something I use on a daily basis, and especially after I have eaten my lunch at work and then again mid afternoon when we have a tea break. It gives me confidence and I don't feel inclined to hold my head back from colleagues and friends when I get up too close to talk to them.
It's definitely something I would recommend to anyone who lacks confidence in the freshness of their breath, it's not too expensive, it works really well and it lasts for ages.
It's also a brand I really trust.
From a young age I have always been paranoid about having bad breath especially since I enjoy drinking tea and am only too aware of how this can make my breath smell stale and nasty. Usually to fix this problem I turn to my ever favourite Extra chewing gum but with my recent bouts of acid stomach as a result of my pregnancy I was interested to find out that chewing gum can actually make an acid stomach worse. Therefore at the weekend I went on the hunt for a breath freshener to help me feel (and smell) fresh. I remember my Dad always carrying a tube of Gold Spot around with him in his blazer pocket when I was a child and therefore when I saw a box of it in my local pharmacy I was interested to see whether it was as good as I remembered it.
This product is presented in a small blue and black box which differs slightly to that on the Dooyoo illustration and houses a small 11ml tube of product inside. Once removed from its packaging the breath freshener is packaged in a small canister which has a removable pull off lid and a push down spray nozzle with which to spray the product. In my opinion it is the small size and slim shape of this product which makes it ideal as it is not only discreet whilst spraying but also fits tidily inside some of my smallest clutch bags making it perfect on a night out.
To use this breath freshener you are advised to blast a squirt of the spray into your mouth at close range. Doing this for the first time in a number of years I was only too aware of the strong minty flavour that this product would have and enjoyed the strong minty and almost peppery taste and the slightly cooling sensation as I sprayed onto my tongue. Gold Spot advise that this product can be used as and when the need arises and therefore there is not limit to the amount of times you can apply a squirt of freshener which is great when I am having a busy day and am in and out of meetings or just have people sat within close proximity of me at my desk.
Once sprayed into my mouth I find that my breath instantly feels and smells fresher and has a pleasant aroma of mint which (although difficult to smell on my own breath) generally lasts for around twenty minutes before I feel the need to either reapply or have a drink. It is an excellent product in my opinion for people who are busy all day in discussion with different colleagues and don't want to look too casual with a piece of gum in their mouth and for this reason this breath freshener really excels.
I believe I paid around £2 for this product which is an excellent price when you compare it to chewing copious amounts of gum as I can see my canister lasting a good few weeks before I need to replace it.
All in all this is a great product for people who, like me, are paranoid of bad breath and as a result I would recommend it.
As I have struggled to find any fault with this product I have to award it an excellent five stars.
I hope this review has been of some help and thanks for reading! x
As a smoker I assume at all times my breath must stink of fags - especially to a non-smoker which is what all my family are. When I attempted to quit smoking myself I could smell cigarettes on peoples breath really badly when they spoke and when I started again (Damn!!) I wanted to make sure people never thought that about me! I bought this "Gold Spot Instant Breath Freshener" a few months back (before I found "Snog Me Senseless") and this was the very first one I tried so I really had no frame of reference and didnt know really what made a good breath spray. Having now tried quite a few I dont think this one is the best you can buy at all and even though I thought it was quite good at the time I now have a slightly different opinion.

For: Refreshing bad breath caused my smoking, drinking or eating and can be used whenever, wherever as it promises to leave your breath fresh and senses soring throughout the whole day.
One great thing about this spray is that it is very compact so you can carry it literally everywhere and it hardly takes up any room in your bag/car or wherever you might be. I usually bring this along on a night out when there is quite a bit of smoking/drinking/eating so I can make sure none of it makes my bretah stink and on a night out my handbag is very small but this fits in with everything easily and even so is very easy to find. The bottle is exactly like you'd expect from this type of product as it is little, plastic and has a small push down nozzle underneath the lid. The lid I found to be very secure and it never sprayed in my bag (not to my knowledge anyway) so this is a great packaging.
The directions for use are very simple- spray directly into your mouth once and your breath should be super fresh and minty - I personally used to use two sprays as I wanted to make sure there was no bad odour lurking behind but I guess thats a personal choice. Now this tastes okay. Nothing more and nothing less but it tastes a bit too minty for me so much so it starts to tingle your mouth a bit (even when you only use one spray) and after a night of using this on and off my throat did actually hurt a little bit like I had a really bad cold.
Whether this actually freshened my breath or not Im not convinced. I think the strong taste/smell makes you feel like your mouth is clean and you have wonderful breath but when that wears off (which is after about 5 minutes) I could still strongly smell cigarettes so I have a feeling anyone talking to me would have been able to as well.
Having tried more products like this since I have to say there is better out there that work better, taste better & last much longer so I dont recommend this one. Its okay but there are better one's out there in my opinion. Dont bother - try Snog Me Senseless!
Thanks For Reading

When I was suffering from gingivitis the most embarrassing thing for me was the bad breath. No matter how many times a day I brushed my teeth the horrible metallic smell would still be there. I really got paranoid at work or anytime I had to talk to someone. I couldn't really excuse myself to go and gargle with mouthwash every time so I decided to buy a gold spot instant breath freshener.
I was a little apprehensive to begin with as every time I see one it brings to mind a middle aged Italian gigolo from the 1980's but needs must and I was desperate at by this point as even chewing gum was causing more bleeding and hence more smell.
To those unfamiliar the gold spot breath freshener is a small spray that looks somewhat like a tube of lipstick. You just remove the cap and spray directly into your mouth.
Personally I hated the taste as it was just too strong when sprayed directly into my mouth but I'm not really a big fan of mint taste at the best of times. It took me a few goes to realise that a quick spray on the tongue will do the same job as multiple sprays to the back of my throat and it also tastes much better this way.
I did notice the minty smell would fade after an hour or so and I would then have to spray it again to mask the smell.
I got this at our local discount store for a pound but it is usually available for just double that.
It is very small and discreet to carry about with you for the day in your pocket etc but I would still have been mortified if anyone had seen me using it.
Regardless of its image it really does freshen your breath even if it is just by overpowering any other smell that may be there so it does the job it is supposed to do. I only had to use it for a couple of weeks and it is now sitting in my drawer and a quick shake tells me it is still more than half full so it is really good value for the money.
I would definitely recommend gold spot as it came in really handy for me but I couldn't wait to stop using it again solely due to the embarrassment factor.
Who doesn't enjoy a good curry? Infact when your out and about it's hard to resist all those fast food outlets you fully well know you should steer well away from - but oh no! You always end up doing so anyway and usually go for something that doesn't do your breath (or waist - for that matter) any good. Absorbed in your delicious, calorific food, you suddenly stop to realise you're due to meet somebody and have no time to go home - what a pickle... (: Its times like these you'll be wishing you'd had some Gold Spot Instant Breath Freshener!
Gold Spot Original Fresh Breath is the most convenient and effective way to leave your breath feeling really clean and fresh. Gold Spot spray is available at most supermarkets for around £1.99 and the perfect size (at 11ml) to fit in your purse, pocket or car even so wherever you are or are going you'll never be without that refreshing hit of instant fresh breath.
Just one squirt of Gold Spot's breath freshener offers a refreshing and great tasting way to help fight the effects of any odour you may have cursed yourself with. Be it whether you happen to be a 'social' drinker, smoker or have eaten that smelly garlic ridden kebab - one squirt is enough to lift all sins and replace them with fresh, clean mintiness.
It's so small and convenient and never fails to freshen my breath, no matter how much coffee I've drank or smelly food I've eaten. The instantly revitalising mint spray creates a tingly, on the spot sensation that is sure to lighten your mood also. For me it's a permanent addition to my handbag that no person should be without, for your sake...and for that of others. No longer shall we ever have to suffer from bad breath! Highly recommended :)
Working as a waitress in a Turkish restaurant has many advantages with one of them being the free food I get every evening. If you ever tried Turkish cuisine you know that onions and garlic are key ingredients in almost all dishes. As a waitress I have to make sure to be representable which includes of course having a fresh breath at any given time - even after a kebab for dinner.
Gold Spot Instant Breath Freshener are being sold at the Boots store opposite my work place. With just under 2 pounds for a small 11ml pack they seem quite pricey but they are well worth it and last for much longer than expected. The bottle itself is small and fits perfectly well in my handbag or even my trouser pockets. As chewing chewing gum or even using pills is not always convenient; the Breath Freshener provides with its spray pump a good and very quick alternative.
The spray taste of refreshing peppermint and is rather strong, a tiny bit too strong for my taste but it certainly does the trick. In my experience the fresh feeling lasts for at least 30min to about an hour, much longer than chewing gum. The spray contains Aqua, Alcohol, Glycerin, Aroma, PEG-60 Hydrogenated castor Oil, Sodium Saccharin, Cetrylpyridinium Chloride, is flammable and should be kept away from children.
Would I buy it again?
Yes, I would certainly buy the Gold Spot Instant Breath Freshener again, it lasts much longer and is more convenient then chewing gum. My first bottle lasted me several weeks even though I used it several times a day, not bad for 1.95 pounds.
Being a fan of smelly foods I often have the problem of bad breath at work and am constantly chewing gum worried that my colleagues and customers will be able to smell my lunch! So as a pure impulse buy after noticing this available in a local Boots store, I decided to try a breath freshener to stop me worrying about this problem.
It was only £2 and I found it lasted me about 5 weeks using it once after lunch for five days per week. The bottle looks deceptively small so don't be put off by the fact its only 11ml as it does go a long way. It fits comfortably into my small coat pocket where it stays for the purpose I use it.
The flavour as with most fresheners is peppermint and its strong. It leaves your mouth feeling very refreshed and easily overpowers all other odurs going, even strong onions which I am fond of eating at lunch times. Undoubtedly, it made me mouth feel cleansed for about an hour and by the time it wore off so had the other odurs so its ideal.
All in all then a long lasting, quality product that I will continue to buy as it serves the purpose of cleaning and refreshing both the mouth and breath with a nice minty flavour!

This breath freshener is a lovely little size. It comes in a can with a pump sray lid and is 11 ml. It is a useful size for fitting into your handbag or into a pocket.
The freshener come with a list of ingredients and one of these is alcohol so beware that this product is flammable! It claims to help eliminate the odours of food, drink and smoking.
The directions are to hold at close range and spray directly into the mouth. Avoid contact with the eyes.
I found this breath freshener to be very good. It only takes one or two sprays and you get a lovely subtle mint flavour in your mouth. It disguises all other odours and I felt comfortable when talking closely with people. My breath felt fresh and clean.
The only downside is that I didn't find the freshener lasted very long once sprayed into my mouth. I found that the taste would wear off after about 20 minutes and then I would need to respray.
I bought mine from Boots for £1.95 and it lasted me about a month. I haven't bought it since due to the short length of time the freshness lasted.
The ingredients are Aqua, Alcohol, Glycerin, Aroma, PEG60 Hyrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium and Chloride.
Sometimes, it just has to be done a bit of breath freshening especially after a night out! Sometimes I think that a quick blast with the freshener actually does something to stimulate wakefulness- probably the rush of mint.
I had never used this one before, so decided to have a go, and see what it was like
~~WHAT IT DOES~~
This is going to instantly revitalise me with just one quick squirt, so I can be ready at all times to get close up and personal with anyone I want; assuming they want to as well, of course.
I like the bit of marketing when it tells me that it will leave my senses soaring, because I am quite sure that after a festive do, one quick blast of mint wont undo the over excesses of the previous night.
~~PRODUCT AND PACKAGING~~
Inside the box is a rather nifty little black spray bottle with a pull off cap. Its quite difficult to pull off so could deter small hands.
Pull of the lid and there is a press down spray nozzle.
Easy at close range, press the little aerosol like nozzle once and spray directly into your mouth. It doesnt tell you where in your mouth, but I would advise onto your tongue, not straight at the back of your throat, or you may experience a choking sensation!
~~PRICE AND AVAILABILITY~~
Not to get too hung up on price, as these change, but this is sold at £1.99, for 11ml. It is tiny, but so far, this has lasted me about 3 weeks, and I still have enough to spray at will.
I bought this from Superdrug, but they are widely available at chemists and supermarkets.
There is this mint blast and an original flavour which is cloves based. I think Ill stick to this one.
Rather strange website. To actually enter the bar scene, you have to click on who you fancy, and then if you mouse around the screen, you get tips and advice for your big night out.
~~WHAT I THINK OF IT~~
For an instant breath freshener, I like this.
The spray is easy to use and with one depression of the nozzle, lets enough mint flavour spray into your mouth to be effective. No need to spray more than once unless you want your spirits to really soar!
The mint flavour is sufficient to be refreshing, but not so strong that it is overpowering, and if you spray it directly onto your tongue, then it does refresh your whole mouth.
The little bottle is quite discreet, and doesnt screech whiffy breath, and can be carried easily in your bag or pocket.
The spray lasts quite a long time, about 4 weeks, and I think my usage is fairly normal, and not overly excessive.
For a quick blast of mint, and a feeling that you have just cleaned your teeth, I would recommend this
Thanks for reading.
