Advantages: Do not overspend

Disadvantages: If you overspend, you are in trouble

It may sound extremely trivial, but the best way to avoid debt, is not to get into debt in the first place.

If you think this is trivial, think again, because it is not. People get in debt also because they purchase goods and items they do not really need, and they do so when they do not have enough funds or money to do so. They resort to credit, and they do not fully realize the implications of it.

How to reduce debt?

Tyr and move all your credit card debt to credit card offering free interest period. These days you can still find deals offering up to 1 year free of credit. You normally have to pay a "transfer fee" of 2% but it is still worth.

Think carefully before spending. Do you really need that dress?

And, remember. In order not to fall into the debt trap, try not be in debt in the first place!

Summary: Do not overspend

Whilst your opinion is sound you're not actually offering any opinion on "debt help in general" - what is out there to help people struggling with debt? That's what the category is all about.
