	Direct Line Home Insurance ... have insured my and contents and, also, two cars with Direct Line Insurance. My impression is that they genuinely do have an ethos of "keeping the costs down" by not operating through third parties and offering realistic cover. New customers very definitely get a good deal with Direct Line, do your comparisons and they will almost certainly be one of the cheapest if not the cheapest. However don t take their renewal premiums on board without researching the market, significant increases at renewal seems to be their norm! 	Direct Line Home Insurance ... have been insured with Direct Line for Home Insurance for about 16 years now. I first took their insurance when I worked for them in Glasgow, back in 1992 and I qualified for a generous staff discount. Over the years I have periodically done a pricing check at renewal stage, but I have never really found a quote any cheaper, apart from one year when I defected to AA Insurance for a year, but then soon found I was better off at Direct Line the following year. I am not an individual who "over" insures, if that makes sense. 	Cover4Students ... majority of students that start University every year move into halls of residents or student houses having never lived away from home. Plenty have never cooked, ironing is something that mum always did, and paying bills?well personally I thought they were as big a myth as Santa himself. Once mother and father drive off into the distance, back down the M1 or wherever ?home? is, then that is it ? you are on your own.
