No Problem with policy but problem with Cancellation Fee
Member Name: pcarnduff
Advantages: Piece of mind if car has a problem
Disadvantages: Fees that are charged, hiding behind terms and conditions
After previously having a WarrantyDirect policy I decided to take out another policy in December 2011 when the manufacturers warranty expired. I took a monthly policy as wasn't planning to keep hold of the car and may need to cancel the policy. I had assumed that it would be a 30 day notice and then that was it. When cancelling today was told that there is a one month penalty for cancelling (Would have been £50 if had annual policy) and this one month doesn't extent the warranty for that period of time and you don't get any rebate for the period of time you have paid. This means that if you plan to sell the car you would have to keep the policy in place until the date of sale and then pay this penalty to cancel.
Like I said no problem with the policy (Never made a claim though) but this is another company using administration fees to generate income. Unfortunately I will not be using them again
Summary: Comprehensive Policy but excessive fees
