Supreme Keep It Clean
by emmad5689 A couple of months ago we inherited and rabbit and hutch off a friend of my Sister in law which I was really grateful of as I had always wanted a rabbit however when my Husband brought Sooty and his hutch home I was less than impressed. The hutch was a disgrace and looked like it had never had a proper clean so I sent my husband straight ... to our local pet shop to find something safe to clean it with. He came back with a bottle of keep it clean which had cost £3.99 for a 500ml bottle, I would imagine you would be able to get this cheaper as our local pet shop is known for being a bit overpriced. The keep it clean range comes in three fragrances, lemon, coconut and lavender, out of the three personally I would have choose the lemon but my Husband came back with lavender. The product comes in a trigger spray bottle which is clear so you can see the product inside, the product is lilac colour for the lavender one and I have also seem the lemon fragrance which is bright yellow. On the front of the bottle is a label which has the title of the product which is written with keep and clean in bold letters and then a little red circle inbetween the others words holding the word it in smaller letters. The fragrance comes next and sits under the title and then there are pictures of 7 different animals on the label with the claim that it cleans, disinfects and deodorises and you can use the product for all animals, birds and reptiles. On the back of the bottle it states that this product is used by the medical profession which gives me confidence that it must be one of the best products within its range, it states that this assists in the prevention of bacterial infections and it can be used on cages, bedding, accessories and your actual pet. There are directions for use on the rear of the bottle too, as a cleaner you need to remove soiled material and then spray and allow to dry, we had to scrub at the hutch the first time it was cleaned as it was so bad but we have used this since by simply spraying and letting the product dry and the hutch is never dirty so this product does work very well. To use as a deodoriser on your pets you simply spray a small amount on the pet avoiding their eyes, it states that this can be used after a toilet accident to give you an idea of its use, I have used this on our two gerbil as they do begin to smell a little and apparently putting gerbils in water to bath them can send them into shock and whenever we put sand down for them to bath themselves in as you are meant to they use it as a toilet instead. This product has certainly made our gerbils smell nicer although after a few minutes I wouldn't say they smell of lavender but just much cleaner. The product is easy to use and the trigger spray has a nozzle to turn the spray on and off so there shouldn't be any accidents spraying it when you didn't mean to. The product does smell like lavender but it isn't too strong which I find some lavender products are and the smell doesn't last too long either which for this particular product I am happy about. The trigger spray sprays well but doesn't spray too much product at once, the nozzle on our bottle has never got blocked and there is still about a quarter or a bottle left after using this for a couple of months so after the initial clean we haven't used too much of it. The product does the job nicely, all our animals are healthy and have lovely clean houses so I cannot fault this product in anyway, I will be trying the lemon one next although I can't imagine I will try the coconut fragrance as I don't expect to like this one. Supreme Products Easy Plait
by PerfectPeaches Over the years I have spent many years competing my horses and although the actual show takes only a few minutes (I compete in dressage) the preparation can take hours and it is amazing how many different products there are out there for show prep. Some people do take it incredibly seriously especially if you show the horses at ... competitions but for me as much as I do take it seriously I still see it as a hobby but I do try and make sure my horses are all well turned out as judges love to see an impressive looking horse. I don't normally buy products which are specifically designed for "showing" as I feel that even the most average horse shampoo can get a horse clean and shiny! However, the one thing I hate doing which I find a horrible job is plaiting the mane even though I can do it I never have an easy time doing it and I find it a bit of a struggle especially if I am on my own as my horses are so tall it means me standing on a box and because their manes tend to be incredibly soft (due to washing and plenty of grooming) trying to plait a mane becomes near impossible! One product which I bought was from a brand called Supreme Products and they do a spray called Easy Plait. Supreme Products have a range of items specifically designed for show prep and the Easy Plait spray is just one of them. It comes in a clear spray type bottle and the liquid is crystal clear, it has a fragrance which reminds me of hair spray but not so strong and throat choking! Easy Plait spray is designed to make plaiting a mane more manageable by enabling the little hairs to stay neat and help keep the plait in place once it has been done. Supreme Products even claim that it will help keep the plaits in place even if they have been done the night before. But would it actually work?! I always do the plaits first thing in the morning even if it means me getting up incredibly early. After grooming the horse and putting my stepping box in place I used the spray over the entire mane and brushed it through before parting the mane into sections. I noticed that the mane wasn't as soft as it was before which hopefully meant it would work! Applying the spray is easy, you just simply spray directly onto the mane. Plaiting was fine and then actually rolling up the plaits before sowing them tight I found that because the mane was less soft it was far more manageable and almost a bit sticky. After completing the last plait I noticed that as usual the little hairs were sprouting from the base of the mane, I simply sprayed the spray on these stray hairs and after stroking them down they managed to stay in place. Once at the event I did re-spray the plaits which now felt a little hard but certainly didn't have any residue left from the spray everything was in place! Despite headshaking due to the warm weather and flies and after riding two dressage tests all the plaits managed to remain perfectly in place which is just what I wanted! It would also work on plaiting the tail but this is something I never do. The spray doesn't leave an aroma either which is nice as I was a bit concerned my horse would smell like he had just come out of the hairdressers due to the hairspray type scent! Supreme Products Easy Spray is available readily online and in store and costs around £11.00 for a 500ml bottle (it is the only size they do). So would I recommend this product? Well yes and no. I would recommend it because I found it worked well for me but my horses only do dressage which is pretty easy going compared to a horse doing cross country or show jumping meaning they don't go through major rigorous activity so I don't know how it would fair on a horse going round a cross country course at high speed! But I wouldn't recommend it because of the price, I think hairspray would do the job probably just as well and even though I wouldn't want my horse smelling of hairspray it is a much cheaper option as £11.00 is quite a high price to pay when a £2.00 can of hairspray would do the job just as well. I still have my bottle of Easy Plait as I didn't have to use a lot all at once so I'm getting my monies worth but I don't think I will be replacing it. Read the complete review |

Supreme Keep It Clean
by Berniedette Living in a house which is home to a very large number of animals, there's always a parrot or rat cage to be cleaned out and some sort of animal cleaning spray is always needed handy. Having run out of the last lot, I took a trip to the pet shop to get some more when I realised my guinea pigs, Gwenny and Mouse, needed cleaning out. I ... don't tend to stick to one particular product so just pick up whatevers there. There were a few on offer but this was the only one there that is suitable for all animals, birds and reptiles. This spray can be used to clean just about everything pet-related, whether that's a cage, bedding, pet accessories or even your pet! The one I bought is a clear liquid, which I prefer as it means no colourings have been put into it, and has a coconut flavour. It claims to be a cleaner, a deodorant and a disinfectant and definitely does not dissapoint. As well as all of that, it says that the spray can be used to assist in the prevention of bacterial infections such as Canine Distemper and Myxamotosis. It's very simple to use. I just removed all the newspaper, sawdust and hay that was in Gwenny and Mouse's cage and sweeped out any excess. I then sprayed Keep it Clean all over the cage and their food bowl and gave the whole thing a good wipe over with a cloth. Leave it to dry for a bit and Wa lah! You have a nice clean cage ready to put fresh bedding into. I haven't actually tried it on Gwenny or Mouse, but I plan to have a go on my rats sometime soon because they can become quite stinky even after they've been cleaned out. When used on animals, Keep it Clean should be used sparingly and ears and eyes should be avoided. It was a tad expensive at £4.20 but was very worth it. Not to much of it had to be used to clean the cage effectively, just a couple of wipes of a cloth was sufficient. It left a very fresh smell to the cage after being used, although I couldn't make out any sort of coconut smell. It wasn't a problem though, the smell was nice and fresh enough. I don't know how long it will last at the moment as it hasn't been used very much yet, but it comes in a 500ml bottle which is the average amount for animal cleaning products. This probably won't last all that long in my house, but this isn't really much of a surprise when there are 2 guinea pig cages, a rat cage, a parrot cage, a budgie cage and a snake cage to clean out, most of which are done weekly. However for most households, I think it could last several months, depending on how often it's used. Overall, I'd say it is definitly worth buying. It smells good, cleans effectively and can be used for so much more than just cleaning a cage. Thanks for reading! Read the complete review |
