Anyone who owns a kitten, cat, puppy or a dog will know what a pure joy it is. As a kitten owner (or should I say me being owned by a kitten!), my beautiful girly Myrtle I am at best described as in love and wouldn't change it for anything in the world.
However aside from her being a fussy eater and getting well over excited at things way to often and trashing our current home regularly one of the biggest bug bears of mine is fleas. I do my very, very best to get rid of them but as many people are aware they are a right royal nuisance and very hard to eradicate once you get them.
I of course treat Myrtle often with different things and seem to be winning that very expensive battle against fleas though of course when you have fleas not only can your pet have them but furniture and pretty much everything around the home can become infested and thats quickly too. I found I got to the point of no more fleas on Myrtle but I was still being badly bitten regularly and it seemed to be happening the most from an arm chair in my living room and one night I had friends round when a guy sat on the chair and suddenly started screaming that he had caught two fleas in a couple of minutes. Now I had treated my home with another spray from Wilkinson's but realising that it hadn't worked I was in a discount store recently and bought us a bottle of this product for a pound and a little research online tells me its actually usually around the fiver mark to get this from online stores such as Amazon and so on.
This product comes in dark blue plastic bottle with a trigger action spryer to the top of it and with a piece of plastic on that which you can use to open and close it off. On the front of the bottle there is a label on there and we are told that it is Petshield Household Flea Killer 'Kills Fleas On Contact' and that it is 'Ideal For Killing Fleas In Pet Beds, Kennels, Carpets And Hutches' and there is a picture of cats and dogs on there too with a picture of a hutch and kennel shown as well and we also told that it contains 0.20% Permethrine. On the back label other information listed includes being told what it can be used to kill and where from, warnings are very clearly listed, the size is stated which is a large 150ml size (and the only size I am aware this is available to purchase in by the way) and contact details for Petshield are given. It's a very informative bottle this one and a quid for this size was a bargain.......providing it worked of course!
A Bit About The Product According To The Information Given On The Bottle:
Insecticide for amateur use against fleas, ants, cockroaches, beetles, ticks, earwigs, bedbugs, mites booklice and moths. For use as a space treatment and as a surface treatment on hard porous surfaces, hard and soft furnishings, upholstered furnishings, carpets, pets bedding and other places where pets lie and into cracks and crevices and animal bedding in kennels. Not suitable for use on human clothing.
Well no instructions on the bottle are actually given but considering what the bottle looks like it isn't hard to work out what to do with it to be fair lol!
Simply lock your pets up and get squirting. It's a very wet clear liquid with a slight froth to it when sprayed with no smell to it at all and it does tend to saturate fabrics a little like my dark blue armchair but it dries fast and leaves no residue behind or staining at all thankfully.
I didn't stop with just my chair mind you as I went to war on fleas when cleaning up! I sprayed rugs, Myrtles bed, corners of my flooring, dining chairs where Myrtle likes to sit and even my bed as Myrtle likes to sleep with me. I had no issues with anything I did at all, I wasn't faced with a load of fumes and forgot about it and just then left it to dry and hopefully work and the drying takes literally ten minutes.
Does It Work?:
I thought for a quid I would be saying of course it doesn't work but it really does. A little of it goes a very long way indeed, I had no issues using it or with smelly fumes and since using this I haven't been bitten, I checked Myrtle for fleas and she still has none and I did kill some ants outside my front door with it too!
Its an easy product to use and like this one and it gets the thumbs up from us big time. Before using this I was being bitten far too often by fleas which were leaving me scabby and sore looking and this has seemed to have stopped that so I certainly will be buying this in the future to keep all kinds of nasty bugs away!
