I only bought the Zooplus grooming glove because I was browsing on the site and it came up and was really cheap. It only costs £1.49 so even though I already own brushes for my cat I decided it wouldn't harm him to have another especially as he is casting really badly at the minute.
I wasn't expecting a lot for £1.49 but was pleasantly surprised when the grooming glove arrived and it didn't look as though it was going to fall apart any minute.
The glove is made of a fabric material with a bumpy latex part on the palm and fingers. The idea is to wear the glove and then groom your pet with it.
First of all the glove is really small fitting and I had trouble squeezing my hands in it. It didn't stop me from being able to use the glove as the fabric is easy to manipulate but it isn't the most comfortable thing to be wearing for long periods of time.
Other than the tight fit I don't really have any other complaints with the glove especially when you consider just how cheap it actually is.
The knobbly latex part really helps with loosening up the hairs and making them easier to remove. I do still need to use a brush after this because the hair is only loosened and it doesn't all come away with the latex bumps. Also I would only really recommend this for short haired cats as I don't imagine it would be any good at separating the hairs and removing tats and dirt.
The fabric part of the glove also helps to give my cat a really nice sheen to his coat so after brushing him I always make sure and use this part to make it smooth and shiny.
I use the glove for loosening the hair but mainly I use it as a way to bond with cat. He loves to be brushed quite hard and takes great pleasure in making a game of it. Usually this involves him trying to bite me and the glove does help to protect my hands from his little nips. Be warned though that the fabric is thin and not designed to protect you so if you are planning on using this with an aggressive cat that will bite and scratch properly then this won't offer you the protection that you need.
For the money I really can't complain about this grooming glove. It does the job it is intended to do and it is quite good quality for £1.49 and hasn't ripped or torn on me even though I am quite rough with trying to get it on my hand.
Most importantly though is that Dashel loves me grooming him with it and it offers just the right amount of pressure so that he enjoys it without it actually hurting him.
