Bondi!
A true backpacker's experience. I came here first on Australia Day with fellow backpackers and had a truly good time.
The surf is great and there's always room on the beach for everyone.
From Bronte Beach to Bondi:
If you're up for a walk there's a 2.5km walk from Bronte Beach to Bondi. It follows a costal path and if you're the energetic type there's excersize like equipment set up along the way for you to try as well as smaller beaches which aren't as well known. I found many that were deserted which is always a plus if you want to get away from the crowds.
When you first see Bondi it can nearly be mistaken for a British beach, but it's far from English.
There's a good selection of restaurants to choose from and hostels if you fancy staying the night. There's also the souvenir shops and general supermarkets.
You can also hire a surf board if you want to test the waves but beware of Backpackers Rip and the stingers as they've claimed a few victims in the past.
But if that doesn't put you off what more can I say other than "SURF'S UP DUDE!"
Summary: Great surf in Bondi
