Advantages: lot of on site entertainment.

Disadvantages: a bit shabby, lots of loud drunk people to dodge

I went a couple of years ago to this Butlins in Bognor Regis with work, taking a group of adults with disabilities there for their summer holiday.

The accommodation was basic, but cheap. We had to move out of our first chalet after two days though as the whole place flooded. We were moved into different accommodation, but it was much less convenient, and not so pleasant.

There was a great deal of entertainment laid on, but it's quality varied dramatically. The discos were quite entertaining, but there were a lot of groups of older teenagers/young 20s there on stag/hen weekends, which didn't exactly add to the family atmosphere. The red coat shows were a bit amateurish, and seemed a bit like school shows, but some of them were very entertaining.

We were there on a half board basis. The food wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. If I were to go back again (which is highly unlikely) I would go for the self-catering option though.

There were plenty of restaurants on site, and it was a short walk to the beach. Actually, it says a lot that our best days were those spent off the site.
