With a three month old,an eighteen month old,two hormonal teenagers,two hormonal mothers,partners and parents-we set off to Butlins in Skegness for a week.

Our trusty cars drove the two and a half hour journey with no major route problems apart from lots of screaming!

We had a brilliant week-there was something to amuse everyone in Skegness.

A choice of accomodation is available,with prices varying with season,but really reasonable.
Ten of us stayed at peak season in a self catering chalet but half-board for £2500-thats eight adults and two little ones.

If you have a family I would recommend the self-catering facilities.All the basics are provided,and extras availabe depending on your accomodation choice.
Chalets for self-catering are also much more spacious.

We found the chalets,dining area,and resort to be very clean.This includes the beaches of Skegness with lovely clear sands.

Older ones may feel like adventuring into Skegness itself.In addition to a charming and busy town,there is a seal sanctuary,horse and carriage rides,lots of funfair rides and fish and chip shops around the central 'clock tower'.

Around the corner from Butlins holiday camp-is fantasy Island.Unfortunatly we didn't find the time to go but we saw the enormous rollercoster from miles away!

Many caravan sites offer accomodation,or a chance to purchase your own holiday caravan.

There are various clubs and activities for youngsters held both daytime and evenings,supervised by the infamous red coats.

In the Skegness resort there are three swimming pools,one outdoor and one with flumes and rapids etc.

our two complaints of the holiday was the state of communal changing rooms at the pools,and the opening times of for example the fair,which closes at 5pm except Wednesdays at 8pm.Many other of the in-site attractions did this and wasn't stated in the brochure.

In all I wou
ld say Go!!!There is lots to do under cover,and isn't very expensive for lots of people to go-with entertainment thrown in!
