      not the best aquarium

The Guernsey Aquarium is located in the La Valette tunnel just a five minute walk from the town centre.

It is a very very small aquarium and has many different fish and reptiles. They all have there own small fish tank which is probably about the same size as a home fish tank. Unfortunately there is not always a fish or reptile inside the tank which is a disappointment when you have paid to see the fish.

After you have paid to enter you can basically see the whole aquarium with little movement. The fish are in small tanks on the left and reptiles in a row on the right. My favorite area was always the flat fish tank as it is open and has a bridge to walk over.

Another of my favorite animals to see is the tortoises. They don't do much though so I don't stay for too long.

The reptiles are often quite tricky to see as they are always hiding. I don't blame them though, we wouldn't want to be watched through glass all day either!

At the front of the aquarium is a shop which is basically the same as inside the aquarium. Small tanks of fish and reptiles but this time, available to buy. They also sell a wide range of accessories for looking after fish and reptiles. I have never bought anything other than an ice cream here.

There is very few parking spaces outside but you could park in town and walk up.

It is accessible for push chairs and those in wheel chairs. There is plenty of room to move around.

Overall the aquarium is not too impressive. I always went during the summer holidays as a child and really enjoyed myself however at that point I had never been to an aquarium in the UK. I think if I had it would have been a big disappointment. I think it could really do with being improved and made bigger, especially as it is the only place to see animals as we have no zoo.
