Advantages: I've explored a lot of new places and their underlying histories.

Disadvantages: So many places to go but so little time.

I guess I've been fortunate or maybe am more open to exploring different places. I'm a member through my Las Vegas, Nevada and Breckenridge, Colorado timeshares and have made some great exchanges to places that may seem "middle of nowhere" to others. I've exchanged into a resort in Genoa, Nevada which is close to Carson City, Virginia City, Reno, and Lake Tahoe; Williamsburg, Virginia that is its own destination; and Overgaard, Arizona where I explored several canyons, Native American excavation sites, the Petrified Forest, a sort of "cowboy museum"and other interesting sights. I've also given wedding and vacation gifts to resorts in Florida and Utah, and the recipients (3 different ones) loved their destinations. I've found the staff at II have really worked with me when necessary, and expect I'll even get San Francisco and Santa Fe when MY time is more flexible. I've only been a member since 2001 and have had several wonderful vacations at each of my home resorts in addition to the exchanges and gifts (previously referred to)through Interval International. I hope I'll get to explore some of the European and Latin American resorts by going on an extended trip when I retire in a few years so I can see what they are like. I probably wouldn't have been to as many interesting places if it hadn't been for the ability to exchange through II.

Summary: Having and exchanging (II) through timeshares makes me get out there so I don't waste my money.
