Newest Review: ... Paradiso is well worth a visit. This quaint little cinema is situated just a short walk from the town centre. It shows a selection of films daily on it's one screen. The unusual seating arrangements include a range of sofas and chairs and strangely an old Morris Minor. Before and after or even during the film you can have a meal and choose from a reasonably priced menu. All films include an interval where you can go and buy some of the freshly baked cookies which are still warm or some homemade icecream. Lake Wanaka is a lovely little town but if you're pushed for time there or perhaps suffering from what sometimes seems like the never ending rain of New Zealand then Cinema Paradiso is well worth a visit. New Zealand's Lake Wanaka is huge and offers views of mountain ranges, high country farms site all around it as do new homes, lodges and walking trails. In the South Island, it is a place you can just relax, take in the sun and all the summer, outdoor recreation you would ever want and also you can stay cosy, by the fire or get out into the mountains if that what you want in winter. I've visited Lake Wanaka on a day trip, I've camped there, interviewed the rich and famous at beautiful accommodation hotel openings, and I love it.
