Great for relaxation and sunbathing! (Mission Beach)

Advantages: Brilliant location, quiet and tranquil.

Disadvantages: not too many ATM's

Mission beach was my second destination when my boyfriend and I travelled the east coast of Australia. When I arrived it was like paradise, I had never seen a place like it.

We stayed at a wonderful backpackers called Scotty's Beach House and the people there were very helpful and even helped us book our Fraser Island experience and our Whitsunday Sailing experience.

At the hostel they offered a "work for a bed" type scheme where you could for instance be the pool cleaner or the mini bus driver and you would get a bed in a room for a discounted price, which is ideal for those on a tight budget.

Just up the road from Scottys Beach House, (which is right on the beach front) is a bar called Coconuts. If you stay at Scotty's they do special offer nights where you can get a pizza/curry (depending it may have changed since I have been) and a beverage for like $10 its awesome.

Mission is a great place for relaxation and sunbathing! The temperatures were soaring when we went and that was winter time! The only issue is that the main place to get cash out was at the Woolworths at the top of the hill! However - Scottys took the mini van up every 20 mins so you're never too far away from your money.

Summary: 5/5 destination on the east coast.
