Floriade 2002:
... 2002 Floriade is an international garden exhibition that takes place every 10 years, in Holland. I was really excited at the idea of going to see a show like this ? after all, Holland is famous for flowers, so the Floriade should be really something. I saved up my money and tried to book a trip ? first obstacle. Most of the trips I could afford were booked up. I found a coach tour with spaces, for t... Koninklij Theater Carre ... Theatre Carré is Holland's most famous theatre with a special place in Dutch society. It started life as a permanent home for Oscar Carré's spectaculair circus. Over the Christmas period it still regularly hosts circus performances with the best acts in the world. Although every major artist has played here at some stage, it now regularly offers long runs of the Dutch versions of West End and Broadway shows. Well worth a visit for the building alone, so consider a backstage tour. ... Read the full review: Holland's national theatre by adrievdl |

Dance Valley Festival ... festival is one of the biggest in Europe, but last night 8 people died trying to get closer to the bands. We all know that at music festivals security is low but when 8 people are killed something else must have gone wrong. Last year music was labled as the cause of high school shootings in America, but here is a direct link between music and death. It's not your Britney Spears' it's the hardcore metal bands who encourage this sort of behaviour. Last night Pearl Jam were playing on stage and when the corwd started to serge forward they told them to get closer. Music can unite people and can be positive. It can also, like last night, kill. ... Read the full review: Is music a killer? YES by |

Dance Valley Festival ... first Dance Valley was six years ago, and I remember at the time thinking I'd died and gone to heaven. Think of the English equivalents of an open air party, Tribal Gathering, Homelands and the like: sweaty clubbers gurning their way through the night and morning, walled into some enclosure like crazy dangerous cattle. This was totally different, set in a beautiful man made recreation area (spaarnewooude I think its called) just outside the Dam, with the tents set atop hills and little valleys. It runs during the day, finishing at about 12, and I swear I have never seen so many gorgeous people in my life. I've been to a few more since then and this year it ...
