Shopping in Hong KongNewest Review: ... branded ones, although may look the same. Also known for its technology, you can come here to purchase some latest gadgets for knock-off pricess! The whole mall also has lots of food chains and other stores. -ADMIRALTY This is where the high fashion brands are located: Gucci, Burburry, LV... with their massively glamourous storefronts. Personally, this is way too over budget for me, but still nice to experience the culture of the city's centre of fashion. Beware though, that they do have bodyguards in every store and if you go in just to browse, its slightly awkward. -SHA TIN Here situates another developed shopping mall, which is sli... more |

I just visited Hong Kong over the summer and decided to write a review about the shopping, which is FABULOUS. Not only is it cheaper, stores close LATE. ~~~CURRENCY~~~ The first thing you need to know of course is that they spend Hong Kong Dollars, which at the moment is around £1 to $12 (HK). ~~~CLOTHING~~~ In Hong Kong, in every "village" or "town" they have their own shopping centre and food market. Whilst many chain stores will show up across these shopping centres, most stalls are unique and are very worthwhile to browse each one individually! Here are some of the places I would recommend for a range of ... Read the complete review

Hong Kong is truly a shopping paradise. When someone say that to you, don't roll your eyes and think it's just an exaggeration. It fits Hong Kong perfectly with its shops lined with branded products from Louis Vuitton to LesSportSac. I think that you may actually shop in pretty much every district in Hong Kong like from DIY items in Sham Shui Po to Gucci and Chanel bags in Tsim Sha Tsui. But let's concentrate on the areas that would interest most tourists. Admiralty Go to Pacific place where it dedicates truly to high end shopping. The shops seem to get more and more high end, and of course pricier as you head up the three floors. There are ... Read the complete review

If you are looking for electronic goods, it is best to know your product, its price and availability in Hong Kong. Traditionally, this meant walking round the shops to find out whether your particular brand model was available, and if so, its price and the likelyhood it would have an international warranty. This was all very time consuming and you are never sure whether the price offered was a better deal down the road. I found a Hong Kong based web site providing price information on what seems the most popular electronic goods. So if you are worried about getting ripped off in Hong Kong and there are a number of well publised scams, take a look at ShopCite ... Read the complete review

Though I visited Hong Kong last year, it's excellent shopping lives in my memory. The prices were low and the choice was vast, i needed to buy an extra suitcase to cope with all my spending! I would recommend bringing as little as you can, as you can easily buy clothes out here, and you don't want to end up being 13kg overweight like I was! First things first, it's best to take a lot of money with you, as you'd hate to run out here. I would say it's better to change it up in the U.K as I found I got the best rate here, though I did have to resort to withdrawing money from my debit card, and the charges were bearable. It's also useful to know that when ... Read the complete review

If you like the idea of lots of shopping malls linked together by a train line then this is the country you must definitely fly to. I have been there twice and i can still remember the madness that was hopping onto the train to each and every station which led to a centre full of shops, heaven for those who are addicted to this hobby. What was even better was that the flat i stayed in, which belonged to my aunt, was situated ONTOP of a shopping mall, which had chinese restaurants, a Maccy D's and plenty of shops in to keep me quiet when i got restless staring at four walls in the apartment. Better than that, the shopping mall was connected to ... Read the complete review
