San Francisco is the most beautiful city in the world. The amazing Victorian architecture and the sweeping views of the Bay visible from almost every hill top can leave you in awe.
If you want to find original Victorian homes, then take walk along Union Street, where you will find the Octagon house (corner of Gough and Union). This street at the foot of Pacific Heights, in an area called Cow Hollow, is full of designer boutiques, antique shops and restaurants, and is a great place to browse and people watch.

For those of you who like your department stores head down to Union Square. Here you will find the big name stores - Macy's, Nordstroms, Neiman Marcus and The San Franciso Shopping Center. You will also find some great stores along Polk Street, known as Polk Gulch, close to Russian Hill.
For more personal gifts and, dare I say, tacky souvenirs, then Fisherman's Wharf is the place. I thought this place had a great atmosphere, but it was very, very crowded. If you love to shop you cannot go wrong in this City!

Take a trip over to Alcatraz from Pier 41, be sure to take the Audio guided tour, it adds that bit more excitement to the tour of the Cellhouse! Be sure to book in advance though....it can get extremely busy.

While in San Francisco you must not miss Chinatown. This bustling section of SF, is full of vibrant colours, smells and Dim Sum! The best time to visit is at dusk when the place comes to life with bright lights.

If you're looking for a City that's easy to get around, fair weather (once the fog has cleared!) and excellent shopping, you really can't go wrong with San Francisco.
