Afflecks PalaceNewest Review: ... a well needed break - well with 3 floors of winding pathways to secret places, you will need it! It has a huge number of shops... 63 mini boutiques to be exact, with a little scape for more! As a proud Mancunian, i have been going to Affleck's for as long as i can remember and it has always amazed me, it makes me think of Dr Who's Tardis, as it doesn't look gigantic for the outside, but it is on the inside! You can go around and shop, get a piercing and a cake for days.... and get a bit lost sometimes! One recent experience for me with Affleck's is when i went to town with a friend and we walked around Afflecks, not one, not two...... but... more |

Affleck's palace! Affleck's palace was established in Manchester in 1982, where its reputation for weird and wonderful jewelry, gifts and unique fashion has grew and grew into a mecca for the........ weird and wonderful people of this world! Affleck's palace is located on Church street, in the Northern quarter of Manchester, just off the main high street. It was opened in 2008, under new management, and has under gone a make over, into the wonderfully bizarre completely unfathomable empire it is today! They have a wide variety of vintage, modern and enchanting shops, including a barbers, a tattoo and piercing studio and a cafe for a well needed ... Read the complete review

AFFLECKS PALACE - 52 Church St Manchester - (0161) 834 2039 Afflecks Palace is to students what Marks & Spencers is to old people. It's a right of passage, which you all must take, and dare I say I have for the best part of the past 12 years. Spread across 3 floors it offers anything you could possibly want as a student from records to clothes, from jewellery to sci-fi toys and a whole range of goods inbetween. What it basically does is appeal to all aspects of "alternative culture" so whether you're a punk, hippie, skater kid or hip hop head you'll find your favourite shops within your first trip. Although still to this day when I ... Read the complete review

I have been to Affleks paalce in Manchester a number of times and its quite an interesting place to visit. It has loads of gothis, 60/70's boutiques and second hand clothes stalls. There are some specialist hairdressers such as an afro carribean hairstylist. There are candle shops, jewellery sales shops, record shops, cafes and so much more. My most intersting visit there yet was a visit that I made with my mum when she got married for the second time. We found her outfit and my bridesmaid outfit, both of which were beautifully tailored and wonderfully made, for £65 all in. Well as its mainly known for gothic and hippy or secondhand clothing ... Everytime I go to Manchester shopping (not that often) I always have a browse in Afflecks Palace. It is a very unique shopping place with lots small stalls inside selling mainly clothing and jewellery. Many of the clothes stalls are geared towards the gothic and alternative look. There are some second hand stalls that sell 60's and 70's clothes, and it is great just having a look for the most outrageous outfit. I would definitely look here if I was going to a fancy dress party!! On another floor there is a great music shop. You will almost certainly find any albulm there. Also when visiting the Afflecks Palace, don't forget to ... Read the complete review
