... finally got to bed I found myself awake in the early hours due to burning legs. I had taken my own bed linen so realised it wasn't that so therefore it must have been a problem with the bed itself. We decided to call into reception the next day to see what they could do as it really was putting tension amongst us all and ruining our break. *Accomodation II* The staff in reception were really helpful and listened to all we had to say. They gave us two choices, they would either send the cleaning team to clean the chalet...more

Premium Review Bideford Bay - Park Resorts Site: Sparkys Holiday Parky (1658 words)

In August last year we spent a week at the above holiday park in Devon. Im no expert on parks of this nature as this is only my second trip as an adult, but I'd like to let you know about our experience there. We actually rented a caravan from a private individual and so I am unable to provide any details of the accomodation provided by parks resorts themselves. The location of the park is a small village called Bucks Cross, which is about 9 miles from Bideford itself. It is within driving distance of Westward Ho and Clovelly. There are 2 theme parks fairly nearby, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way. Bideford itself is the nearest place for any well known shops ...  Read the complete review

An absolute disgrace! We booked a 3 night weekend break and god am i pleased it is over. We arrived on the friday night and checked in which went reasonably smoothly. We had booked a 2 bedroom silver caravan but discovered we had been put in what can only be described as a WWII evacuation shelter which park resorts call a "chalet". The chalet was filthy. Insects crawling all over the walls, ceiling and floors. Cob webs in corners of rooms, over light fittings etc. The extractor fan in the bathroom was thich with gunk. The hot water from the tap in the bathroom nearly scalded me, the water was that hot and without any warning. The ...  Read the complete review

I've been dying to write a review on this site since we returned from our holiday in early July but as we knew we were returning again in October I thought it would be best to wait to see if things changed from early on til late in the season. There were a few minor changes along the way but only positive, as you will find out. Before I start I know that this review is going to be pretty long so I've split it into easy to find sections if you want to find anything out in particular. ***Background*** We've been going on this type of holidays since I was young and had always opted for Haven in previous years. The past couple of times we had been to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Bideford Bay - Park Resorts Site: Bideford Bay Holiday Park (1452 words)

*Location* Bideford Bay holiday park is part of the Park Resorts company. It is located near the North Devon town of Bideford. It is close to Clovelly, Exmoor and Westward Ho! *Arrival* We arrived at the park at around 9pm on Friday evening. Due to the late check in, we had to phone ahead and then pick up our keys from the bar. This was no problem and the girl who gave us our keys was very polite and helpful and explained everything thoroughly despite having a bar full of people to serve. Because it was dark, we found it quite hard to find our accomodation because there weren't a lot of street lights. We eventually found it and was rather ...  Read the complete review
