I have visited Bobby Roberts Super Circus tonight in Ayr and can only describe the show as "extortion" and down right cruelty!
Firstly the staff were selling tickets to people that could definately not fit into the big top, secondly due to this they were providing additional chairs which they began placing in front of each of the fire exits. This was horrifying as there was a fire throwing juggling act and therefore in the event of a fire, a speedy exit would be impossible.
Then, during the first half the performance was stopped for them to sell raffle tickets and again at the end of the first half, a 50 year old elephant and small pony were paraded into the ring for over an hour so that photographs could be taken. The elephant was chained and one of the performers was pulling so hard on the pony's collar it was choking. This was the cruelest thing I have ever seen. The break was supposed to be 15 minutes but due to an alleged "technical problem" it was over an hour. The audience were boing and stamping their feet however the staff carried on regardless. As I had three small children under 5 who were shaking with fear, we left. On approaching the box office to complain we were met by a woman who could only be described as "obnoxious" and who advised us that she would not be refunding any money and that Bobby roberts Super Circus was a business. " The show must go on" however in my opinion its time this Super Circus should be stopped once and for all.
Summary: dngo not ponder to this racketeeri
