Bombay DreamsNewest Review: ... night out in London. The star rating system is difficult on this one! I gave Chitty two stars because it was really awful ? lazy and boring. Bombay Dreams had more life, better chorography and a somewhat better story-line so, even though it really disappointed me I?ve given it three stars. One for the character Sweetie as any show that does a brave thing like making a transsexual a main ... more |

It has been announced recently that the London production of Bombay Dreams is to close in June. If you are desparate to see the Original London Production go and see it before it closes. Bombay Dreams will be back, but will use the Broadway version that is just opening on in New York - Lloyd-Webber is said to prefer this version to the London one. The plans at the moment are to pull the plug on London and take the new Broadway version on a nationwide tour of the United Kingdom early next year, finishing off in a smaller venue in London's West End where it'll probably run and run! ***THE THEATRE*** The Apollo Victoria is ... On his way, he mets Preeya, the daughter of a film director, and they fall madly in love, with all the ... Read the complete review

I caught this on its 4 night running, so the price was extortionate and the seats were limited, and we had to squeeze our way across Wilton Road past the limousines and through the crowds of people taking photographs of the building. First of all I was hit by the refurbishment work carried out on the Apollo Victoria. Anyone who had seen Starlight express who hasn't been into the theatre since the bridges, skating tracks and general blackness will be astounded by the extra space and pristine condition of the beautiful architecture of the building that hasn't seen the light of day since the dawn of Starlight Express 17 years ... When Andrew Lloyd Webber announced that he was going to be producing a musical inspired by Bollywood no one knew quite what to make of it. It has now been running a few months and people still don't know what to make of it! While Bombay Dreams has been very successful at the box office the jury is still out on whether it is a 'good' thing. One potential problem with this musical is who is it trying to appeal to? Will Asians find it patronising? Will non-Asians be put off by the Hindi? Well, I shall attempt to answer these questions... BACKGROUND - Bombay Dreams is basically inspired by, and about, the Indian film industry, better known as Bollywood. ... Read the complete review
