Advantages: quiet

Disadvantages: cost of pool

This is a nice, quiet caravan club on the outskirts of Plymouth. There are under 100 caravans, and the emphasis is on quiet holiday rather than 18-30s. The site is run by a family who live there, and their door is always open for you to ask for something.

There is an indoor heated pool on site, although it is fairly cold. I had to pay £50 for a weeklong pass (a huge amount) but I believe it is included in the price if you hire a caravan from them.

There are no shops nearby, so bring plenty of food. The most you will get is an ice-cream from a shack a mile up the coastal path.

The site is right on (as in 30 yards from) Bovisand beach. The beach is a bit rough, with lots of sea-weed, and is heaving on a nice day with the locals, but it's good enough.

There is a small park and some goats on site which is a real highlight.

All in all a nice site, but the price of the pool left a bitter taste in my mouth, particularly when it wasn't that warm!

Summary: do it
