Advantages: Excellent value, clean accomodation, something for everyone
Disadvantages: cliff top a little dangerous - pool closed due to weather
These days as I fast approach the big four zero Id rather forget my birthday and do something for and with the kids.
This year we were going to go camping for the weekend but after pricing it up, for eight of us, we found a cheaper caravan deal and to be honest the thought of a private shower and loo with the kids swung it for me!
I had booked a hoseasons break earlier in the year (my Sherwood Forest review) and had thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it fantastic value for money so I re-visited their site.
After an hour or so playing on the site I stumbled across this little beauty.
Broadland SAnds Holiday Park Corton.
Situated between Great Yarmouth and LOwestoft it was under a two hour drive for us. For the month of May (excluding the holidays at the end of May) there were numerous offers and bargains namely mine being £50 off for that particularly weekend. They also offer £10 off concessions for children under seven and Seniors!
All in all this break costed in at £99 for eight people, for three nights in a three bed, two toilet Gold star van! What a bargain!
Broadland Sands was easily found just under 4 miles from Lowestoft. It was well sign posted and reception were extremely helpful on our arrival. AS all electricity and gas is included there were no deposits to leave on arrival.
We had an 'Gold' caravan which was 12ft-wide, with one double and two twin rooms and additional sleeping in the living arae in the form of a pull out bed.(All bedlinen and duvets were included in the price too!)
There was a 'cloakroom' consisting of toilet and wasbasin and a shower room consisting of very large shower cubicle (with powerful shower) toilet and washbasin. The two loos proved invaluable in a party of eight!
The kitchen was well equipped with all youd need for eight people on a self catering break and included a 5 ring gas hob, grill, oven and microwave.
The living area was spacious with gas fire, tv and freeview channels.
Another bonus was that ALL rooms had heating.
Just beside the van was parking for two cars.
So, all A OK with the accomodation, time to explore the site which included :
Outdoor heated swimming pool with 45m flume and children's pool.
Walled sun terrace.
Club complex with live entertainment.
Garden conservatory with bar and restaurant.
Games Zone and snooker.
Pitch and putt and crazy golf.
Children's playground.
Tennis courts.
Children's entertainment.
Themed Sports Bar with big screen Sky TV, Competitions and YES Bingo!
We used just about everything I thing except the launderette and unfortunately due to the bloody British weather the pool was unable to open. We didnt let this spoil the fun though as there wwas a fantastic indoor pool just up the road in Yarmouth.
The 'private beach' wasnt the most beautiful and I guess pretty dangerous for rthe younger children due to Corton being placed basically on a cliff top but with Yarmouth and Lowestoft close by it really didnt matter. For those that visit without a car there is a bus stop directly outside the complex.
The evening entertainment couldnt be faulted with the guys giving it their all and definately givng the children a great and memorable time - 2 weeks later and my three year old is still doing the Macarena !!
And Yes ... They sang me Happy Birthday lol !!
Summary: I would go again and the kids loved it!
