Advantages: cheap holiday when booking

We have just come back from a four day break at butlins bogner regis. I would love to say it was a really happy experience but i think if i was honest i would tell the truth and say that it was a big disappointment. I think it is geared for older children, mine are four and two and they found that there was not really much for them to do, apart from things we had to pay additonally for. The playframe is only meant for chidren four and above and the playrooms although well stocked are not exactly exciting and appealing to young ones. We spent our time, paying for ten pin bowling, swimming and off site. Everything else is stuff you have to pay for. There are no red coat clubs for under 4's and the entertainment provided is puppet shows which are over crowded and bob the builder that is only one once a day. The swimming area was fantastic i have to say and they do have stuff on site which if you are happy to pay for will keep them amused but not for long!

The fairground rides outside are for older kids, the indoor ones are good but not great, there are only three. The evening entertainment however was very good, although you have to queue early otherwise you get stuck in the smoking area which is not ideal with young children. We spent alot more that we expected even going self catering. Our apartment was alot smaller than featured on the web but it was clean and compact and had everything we needed. One word of advise is that the car park is a long way from where we were placed so get there early to ensure you get a trolley and car space near the entrance. I hate to sound like a moaner, but i wish someone had have put the honest part of butlins on the web. I definately will not return until our children are older and then i think it will be a completely different experience all together. One word of advise is to be aware that you will have to take alot of spending money if you want a good time.

Another grip is that the food choice onsite if you are not going half board is mainly junk. I would definatley suggest that you get a healthy shop in before you go.
