Boggy Butlins (Butlins (Minehead))
Member Name: kezbomb
Advantages: Entertaining hard working redcaots Disadvantages: touring park
We went to Butlins Minehead Aug 08 in our touring caravan, there were only 50 caravan pitches, which were all grass pitches and very boggy, some people were ankle deep in mud and water, and they didnt get much help from staff either to resolve their problems. The toilet block was a porta cabin, with a row of about 8 toilets with sinks oppersite where you are also expected to have a wash. Sinks have no plugs, so are basically un-able to wash. There are only 3 showers and can be turned off from the outside, which they were when my husband was in by a group of youths. The touring park is at the furthest part away from the butlins site as you can get so will still need to use your car. The spaces between caravans is so close that the people next to us in our first week came in a caravan towed by a camper van and we were unable to open our window due to it being so close. There is nothing for the children to do on the campsite not even so much as a swing, there is a single track road going around the caravans where they can ride their bikes, but this is the road!!!! Summary: Not worth the money |
